Ditto on everything already said dude.

Hoping that your physical condition improves substantially and your mood improves over time. I can understand that you feel upset and angry, after-all the goon that hit you could have done something different and avoid this whole situation.

Bastard is right!

Here's wishing you all the best in your time of need. :)

Thank you all, i started physiotherapy yesterday that should get me going soon, I still didnt go back to work. I'll be doing treatments for approximately 7 months. it sucks..
00Beast wrote:Do you still have the Escalade? At least you have that to roll in, lol.

That's asinine about the Service Manager thing...
Yeah Escalade still here, lost a tranny a month after warranty was up. It was a pain dealing with Cadillac to get it fixed. So $6500 bucks later a new tranny was installed. I'm very shocked they didnt do a recall on the transmission on these trucks yet, reading online i wasnt the only one who had tranny issues.

*dang*, I cannot believe it cost you $6500, even up there. $4k should've handily covered it....

A recall only goes out for safety issues....

That's very stupid, I was very shocked when i saw the review online. I mean this car is almost 90k when it was brand new, very cheaply built. I'm very disappointed. I'll probably get rid of it after this winter, if not sooner

Thank you, I still cant believe my car ended up in a junk yard, it was in an amazing shape. I took such a good care of this car.
I barely drive the Escalade, sometimes i wonder why i even got it. I enjoy driving my car a lot more. Even in winter, i know sounds retarded but i do.
I bought the cadi almost 2 years ago with 30k miles on it, and now it got just over 44k miles.

Hey sammy,

maybe buy back the Gxp..part it out, and drive the slade..then after your done parting out the GXP..scrap wats left..then sell the caddy, then with whats left over from all that...but a new project and start with a Fresh clean slate?

just my two cents :beerchug:

Well i already have something else in mind, sadly wont be an american car this time. With Pontiac being out nothing really grabs my attention. G8s are nice but not for my taste. CTS are awesome, but not dropping that kinda money at the moment. Camaro sucks because I'm really tall and sitting in it with the seat all the way down my head touched the sealing over any bump.

But as for the GXP, I'm gonna try to buy to it back (depending on price ofcourse) I NEED my rims back. I'm sure i can make few bucks off the GXP parts

Great looking car, sorry you lost it, especially under those circumstances.

I really like those rims. Black with the thin red line looks nice. I saw some similar rims on a black Z06 and it looked great. I would be interested in them if you are able to get the car and/or rims back. Also, interested in the original GXP 18" rims if you still have those. Best of luck with the next car.

You should be able to remove aftermarket parts, but you might need stock ones to put on.

I wish you the best of luck in dealing with inscurance.

Its been 4 years since my rollover and cracked spine , I had physiothereapy for 6 months after i got my neckbrace off.
Its just now that im starting to feel the full effects of that incident.

Good luck with the therapy.

Insurance Companies have a lot of space for negotiation, do not settle with the first offer. When I was rear-ended, they tried to low-ball me and said they were going to total it out. With some recent receipts on repairs and showing them the "dealer retail" value of getting a replacement, they ended up not totally the car and giving me a good size check to have it fixed "professionally".

From the pics though, it looks like it will be totaled regardless, just show them some dealer prices with the same car, then add the cost of the aftermarket parts on it.

Make sure you settle the car and your injuries SEPARATELY. That way you can get onto something else sooner. Those are two different claims, don't let his insurance company lump them together to pressure you into settling your personal injury claim early.

Trust me. Been there, done that. That's how I got into the SSEi the first time.

Finding listings for "retail value" might be difficult considering the two-figure sales volume in Canada for 2005. There are two GXP's in Ontario right now, an 04 and an 05, going for $10k and $13k, and I've seen them listed for as high as $16k (that one took a LONG time to sell).

Thank you, i dont have the original rims, i was running some other ones for winter and the 20s for summer, its been about a month and i still havent heard from my insurance. car still at the impound. i'll know soon what i'll be doing with it
BonneMe wrote:You should be able to remove aftermarket parts, but you might need stock ones to put on.
we'll see, i was told i cant touch it till the investigation is over, i cant remove anything. Lucky me my brother removed my HU, subwoofer & amp, cost me quite a bit to setup my system.

ahahaha, i had so many PMs about my tails. I'll see who gets them first if i get to remove them

Thanks my friend, I'm just happy i made it out with nothin more serious than my back and neck pain, could've been way worse. It was a very unique GXP, pictures dont give it any justice, it turned head more than anything else on the road.
Sadly thats true, especially in Fort Mc, what part of Alberta you in?
I'm doing physio for 7 months as a start, he said it could be as long as a year.

I doubt i want this car fixed, if you look from the rear passenger side you can see the whole front end is shifted to the right, the frame is bent for sure. I would never drive this car again no matter what. Labor is wayyyy to expensive were i live, someone cracked my front bumper skin few months and total repair was 2500! insane! also keep in mind GXP parts are twice the price and take forever to get.

I am for sure, thanks for the advice. the car will be paid soon, as for injuries that all depends on how long i'm off work, how long im in physio for & whether i'm taking them to court or not. i have two years for settlement on injuries. i really appreciate the advice, my first time into an accident and i can use every piece of advice

the BOOK retail value in my area is 13900, but mine is SUPER clean with many aftermarket parts which will push it higher. Also in Kijiji and Canada trader they are going for way higher than book because of how rare they are and our market is much higher over all. Looking online 05s in my area they are going somewhere between 15 and 17, insane but thats the market. i paid almost 20 for mine. Theres one 05 for 14 but looking at the speedo it looks like a US car and *shoot* rims and doesnt look that clean.

I was actually considering buying another GXP, but it'll never be the same.
Not looking at any GM at the moment for my "good" car. If i do GTO or STS-V might be an option.

I dunno if it can get any better than my GXP (Conceited much?), i had that car exactly where i wanted it to be, only thing i wanted and was missing just because i dont have time for it, was projector swap in my headlights, but didnt get the chance to get to it.

RIP, I will miss this car like no other.

Hey buddy, glad you're okay and hopefully rehabbing well. Definitely one of the best Bonnes out there, and no joke, huge inspiration as to what I can do with my GXP. Can't wait to see what you do with your next car. Take care, Joseph
