Those are too long. There's no good way to install them without weakening the hood.

I thought of it a few years ago for you. I even had a set, including trays.

In all honesty I thought about them too, but those suckers are BIG. If I'm remembering the dimensions right they are 7"x20". The 92-99 bonne hoods aren't very hood vent friendly, limited space to install them.
So if I happen to stumble across a fair price for some GTA vents, its possible this mod would happen.
But I wouldn't hold your breath.

I removed the mesh and replaced it with a different style of aluminum mesh of my choosing.

I have two sets of the narrow pieces, I'd originally thought of putting them in as shark gills in the fenders.
Way too pricey, especially for only 2 of the four pieces:

That should be enough to tempt you.

Thanks for the links Wilwren, I had checked out those offerings on Ebay earlier. I just have to be patient for now. Extra cash for non essential bonneville wants is non existent right now.
Re: Not your average hood vents on a SE contemplating,. (upd
Found these on Ebay and was able to get them for a decent price, at least I think so.

So they will have to wait until spring to get installed.
Not sure if I'll paint them body color, or go with the textured black that I have else where on the car.

They'll look awesome! Personally, I would make them body color. Would probably flow better in a visual sense.

Have you thought about installing the vents in the fender behind and above the wheel? Since the vents are plastic it could be possible to heat them and mold them to the contour of the fenders. I thought about this when I had my 93 Bonneville and the air went out but I was going to duct the vent in to the car for more air movement.

Read my post farther up. That was my original plan.Phantom wrote:Have you thought about installing the vents in the fender behind and above the wheel? Bing, toss the plastic screens. They won't last long. Soak the vents in Castrol Super Clean to soften and remove the paint, it won't harm the plastic. Then use a good plastic primer before painting. I replaced the screen with bright aluminum gutter screen. It looks great.

Thanks for letting me know about Castrol Super Clean to get rid of the paint without wrecking the vents. Definitely gonna go with the stainless mesh, it looks so much better.
