Revisiting this thread. 6 months in, the current projector setup is working awesome, but looking back, the install wasn't as clean as I'd have liked. With an extra set of headlights I have lying around, time for a re-do and upgrade! The Retrofit Source is having a nice Black Friday sale, so I can get BETTER projectors at a discounted price, PLUS another 25% off with an order over $250. I will be going with:

FX-R 1.1 Bi-Xenon Projectors

Ballasts: Retain existing Morimoto 3Five 35W, with AMP-D2S adapters:
http://www.theretrofitsource.com/produc ... cts_id=160 - ballasts (I have an older revision)
http://www.theretrofitsource.com/produc ... ucts_id=97 - adapters

Bulbs: Need Morimoto 3Five D2S, instead of the H1 that I have now. Going with 4300K.

Shrouds: Gatling Gun "Value" -- I'll be painting them flat black and so I don't need a perfect chrome finish.

OCI Butyl Rubber Glue - for resealing. This stuff might also work for 2000+ inner door water guards!

Rubber Housing Caps - in 90mm for the back of my exposed headlight. The current setup is a slice of PVC pipe epoxy'ed into place...

And to push my total to $250 so that I can get a 25% discount instead of 20%, I'm upgrading my H3 3000K fog light bulbs to Morimoto from DDM:

Thank you very much. I'm about due for new D2S bulbs since one is purpling.

*dang*, my credit card is hating me right now.

Ditto. Thankfully Intense's holiday sale goes until December 18th, so I can put off the extra pain :sadeyz:

Of course, my owner's manual does not specify the type (wattage and Kelvin), it just says "All xenon lights are high tension and must be performed by authorised personnel"

Far as I know, the vast majority of low beam projector bulbs are D2S and 35W. Colour temperature can be whatever you want theoretically, but stock is about 4300K.

I hope to have more pictures. The last swap took a lot more head scratching than I anticipated, so there was no real write-up.

I hope you know the FX-rs are gonna require even more head scratching , My quad mini d2s is about to go back to the states as something came undone and i had one projector suddenly droop , its okay though because they were much too low anyways and i had them up as high as they could go.

Also i just had a 3k fog go out , i think im not getting a good enough ground , too much alumnium , gonna get a new redtop with posts and screws so i can run the car off the posts and aux everything off the screws and ground directly too the battery , poor grand prix , underneath the headlight my wiring looks like a rats nest atm.... :(

Nice choice for the redo. The FX-R is a great projector.
