Now the big question:

Since we all envy your choice of cars available Down Under, is there ANY car that you're envious of us having up here that's not available down there?

I'm guessing none...lol

Better half won a trip to the States earlier this year, so we spent 5 nights in NY, 3 nights in SF, and 2 nights on a road trip North of SF, across to Reno, down Lake Tahoe.

In a Red Camaro.

I loved that car.

(Can buy one here for $100k...and it was designed by Holden).

Dodge Ram with Cummins would be on my list as well.

Looking online, about the only large truck supplier in Oz (bigger than what we would call a mid-size, Chevy Colorado) is GMC. Anyone else make a truck half-ton or larger? (Just simply curious).

re trucks

Our ratings system seems to be different to that in the states.

My family "car" is a Nissan Navara (2003 model) ST-R 4 door with the ZD30 direct injection turbodiesel (3 litres, 4 valve per cylinder, DOHC, around 16lb boost, 150hp)...

It's rated to carry a tonne, tow 750kG unbraked and 3.5 tonnes braked.

The Commodore, Hilux, Colorado (Holden), BT50 (Mazda), Duramax (Isuzu), Raider (Ford), Great Wall, SSangyong etc. are all rated to carry a tonne...Not sure what the VW FWD offering car haul.

Need more than that, and people typically step into cab over vehicles.

Will post pics of the Navara after work.

Well in the U.S. a "Half Ton" truck is a GMC 1500 pickup. It appears they import U.S. spec trucks and convert them to RHD. Not sure the exact weight ratings on one, but towing is generally 8000 lbs or so.

Seen them on the net only.

I like the FJ40 body on an FJ45 Cruiser 'though. I see maybe 1 per year.

Gave it a run today.

Service history is 1500 miles since last year, so an injector cleaner at double dose for half a tank, refilled, and Lucas/ TCW-3.

0-100km/hr 7.0 seconds.

Minor (1 Rear wheel) spin early on. Slight chirp into 2nd. Audible whine from around 4300RPM-5,300 RPM
