That's what I did. On the 1993 you can run the hot current into the starter fuse under the dash and it'll fire that way.

I rain a "safety" switch for it so it couldn't be bumped while driving or anything. This sent power to the "start" switch and later, button, and a light so I knew when the circuit was hot. I used the middle button on the pod because it was a momentary switch, not on/off. after running it straight through, I switched to a relay because I fried the first pod I used. I still have an extra pod or two lying around IIRC...

It was gimmicky, kinda dumb, but totally caught people off guard, and was fun in other ways. TOTALLY pointless. The whole reason for a starter button in a sports car, is for when you stall it on track. Be it because of a spin/mechanical/etc and need to get going QUICK a big red button on the dash is easier to push than finding the key and fiddling with it.

On a street or strip car, you'll use it like once in 100 starts IF you remember about it. If you don't have a keyless-entry/ignition system (and you don't) then you still have to put the key in and add an extra step.

If a guy was really good with schematics and handy enough, could you rig a relay sysem using 3-way relays or something? Running off the door lock/unlock outputs of the DLR. Car unlocks and starts with fob, car shuts off and locks with fob. Could rig it to start on 2nd consecutive unlock signal..off the passenger door unlock output of the DLR, that way you can get in without starting the engine everytime.

Wire it up to a big red Staples Easy Button. How cool would it be to start your car and have it respond "That was easy." :laughing3:
