If you look at where the Pass. Rear door is in comparison to the other door, and look at where the front wheel is on that side, the entire structure of the car was moved. I don't think the best frame shop in the world could pull that body back to where it should be. That thing is utterly totalled. Pull the engine and trans, throw it in another Bonneville, and trash the rest.

As I was writing that I went (or GP, Regal, PAU, etc.). I think that combo deserves life in another Bonneville, but that's just me.

It saddens me of course but the most important thing is that Rob is ok.

I put quite a bit of sweat, money, labor and yes blood into building that car and it is painful to see pictures of it but in the end she did her job and protected the driver.

Rob has stated that he will be buying the car back so he can rescue the drivetrain, but doesn't have specific plans for it yet. He said if he can graduate and find a job in his chosen field in a reasonable amount of time, he will put the motor back into a car. Suggestions were made about Fieros...

I doubted we would see the power plant living on in another Bonneville anyway...but an L67 Fiero project sounds sweet.

Honestly, that much power in a Fiero is another recipe for destruction. I've driven a Fiero L67 swap with about 350rwhp and even the slightest amount of pedal around a corner can send it into a 360 spin. Figure no stabilitrak to help control, no air bags, light and small car....I don't think you are walking away from a mistake either by you or someone else...just my 2 cents....

I agree 110% with Rogue. That drivetrain in a Fiero is a death warrant. I'm all for a 3800 in a fiero, I think it is an awesome idea. There is no protection at all in a Fiero. It's your call of course, just remember they tend to break in half when hit on the side, I lost a good friend that way.
