Parents had to pay deductable for when a deer jumped out infront of me driving solstice last summer. Act of god doesn't matter... That just sort of lessens liability on you/chance of your rates rising.

after several talks with my State Farm Agent, i was told to always hit the deer. Its comprehensive which doesnt count against you unless you have a lot of comp claims. If you swerve to avoid its collision which does count against you and sometimes has a higher deductible. I am just very glad it slid across my hood on its back, i thought for sure it was going to come into the car with me. it just came out of nowhere and i didnt even have really a chance to react. I hated calling my mom so early in the morning but I had no clue really what to do lol. I just hope i get my car back soon, i really miss my 3800. the caliber is nice, but not my car, i actually lost it in the parking lot this morning because i was looking for a grey grand prix not a lil red box hehe

That is 100% correct. Jeff has learned so much from me since I've been doing this job for the past 10 years that he could get his own insurance license. LOL

well at the current moment the total damage is $2076.84 thats if they can just buff out the headlight and front cap(apparantly one of the horns did some damage to the driver side headlight and bumper cap(scuffed it really good and scratched it some))

Yeah, that's about what my deer would have cost me without insurance.

My question is how many points and the B & C rating? Did you mount em on the wall? lol Good luck with the repair.

Hmmm.. we call them antlers 'round here..though I must admit Florida deer are more like big dogs.

Anywho... yeah, if all else fails, hit the deer. Then call your insurance company, followed by the local game commissioner, followed by your favorite butcher. Mmmm good eats :beerchug:

ok so at least in MS, they are called horns, the rack, only the still fresh yankees call them antlers in my neck of the woods. in chicago we never had to worry about stuff like that, just other cars lol!

I refuse to eat deer meat!!! Yuck! If I had a nickle for everyone that has said "Yeah, but you haven't had it cooked the way I cook it" - BS- I don't like any which way its cooked. It is foreign meat in my mouth. :pukeleft:

It just depends on whether you want to deal with isurance comp or collision. A lot of insurance companies around here (west virginia = lots of deer) don't claim fault for deer accidents regardless of how many cars may end up involved. But if you swerve to miss a deer and end up damaging the car badly, you're at fault and insurance is more likely to raise (from what i've heard). Weird.

I hit a deer last march, almost same exact story. Dead night, came from the center side over the median, hit that same corner, but mine was tossed from the car in front of me. Glad you're ok and yours are just dents!
