looks Very good!

But I'm curious, are there any other XM antennas that you van use?

I would assume 03 and 04 work the same, but I also would assume you need the proper module. I know 05's have the On-Star in them as well, which is why they're completely different looking. The antenna on our 05 2500HD truck is the same (or extremely similar) externally as the one andrew just installed. But, I'm sure the modules and wiring are different as well.

How much of a pain was it getting off the headliner being a recent recovering? I did mine a little over a year ago and there are two little spots that bug me (had to rush to get back to school) and I would like to redo it but I am afraid it will tear up the base.

Oh by the way how much por 15 did you use for the floor and trunk,I am also going to do this..

I installed a completely different headliner. The recent recovering will probably go in the trash.

I bought a quart and it was way to much.

Looks AMAZING Andrew.

Now all you need is the xm ipod mod, so you can listen your ipod directly.

:bluetwitch: You just don't quit do you?

That whole thing...looks absolutely...insanely amazing. The whole thing...and with 160k+ miles...its nearly a miracle. Keeping up an 00+ like that is REALLY no easy task. I drove an 03 SLE the other day that felt like it was going to break just driving it gently...everything squeaked, clunked, or rattled...and it only had 110k!

Is that...antenna...from the trucks?

Wow, that car has really come a long way. I didn't realize what it looked like when you got it.

I used to like my 12 disc changer but it doesn't play MP3 so will only play original discs.

Good job refreshing your SSEi Andrew. =D>
You're so lucky to have donors in a yard close by. The newest we have in the scrap yards are pre-'00

First time I have used it in years.. I usually go to the manual car wash, but there are none out here in my small town.

My changer plays mixed discs... obviously you can't burn it as MP3's and put 200 songs on a disc, but if you burn it like a regular CD with 20 some tracks on it, it will play just fine.

Its not like the yards around here are just full of 2000+ Bonnies... in fact, this is the first one I have seen with the tan interior. I have a TON of gray 00+ interior parts from the cars I have parted out... but they don't help me.

Think a pint of the POR 15 would work? I was looking at getting it in silver but didn't know if the pint would be to small.

Finished up the rest of the mods that were in the works on Friday. I upgraded from the Bose amp to the Monsoon amp. It isn't just a plug and play swap, there are wiring additions and the pinouts are completely different.
Image

After the amp was setup, I moved to the head unit. I upgraded from the OEM cd/tape to a touchscreen GPS Navigation unit from an 05 Escalade. This is the same mod that ddalder did... yes, copied him ;) Had to add the GPS antenna in the dash.
Image

and change the AM/FM coax cable
Image

and cut out the dash and add a wiring adapter
Image

in Theftlock mode

works!

The head unit is badass. However, it almost feels like the biggest upgrade is the Monsoon amp. Even with the original Bose speakers, the sound is that much more amazing. Louder, crisper and more bass. The Bose amp runs the front speakers and tweeters off the same channel, while the Monsoon has them seperate. I had to run new wires for that. Also, the Monsoon amp upgrade was necessary for the HU upgrade. The Nav unit needs the Monsoon amp to operate.

Ya, I put about 800 miles on it this weekend. It is genius. The audible turn by turn directions are nice. And it still works with the steering wheel controls, dimmer and even the ENG/MET button.
