6v: either find a 6v battery, or I'm not sure. A lawnmower or something like that might have a 6v battery. Check on the label first, though.

Figured out it was the blower motor when it stopped working completely a couple weeks ago. Just replaced it, and all is good in the world of air conditioning!

And unlike many of you, I still need my A/C this year... forecast to be 105 in the next couple days!

Mine just went out today, trying to find a store in the area that even has one, im another poor sap who lives in Phoenix too. Mine seems to quit working altogether, then for the last week or so it worked pretty much all week without any failures, now this afternoon it quit again. Sometimes I will be driving and it will kick on 10-15 min into the drive. Should I just go ahead and replace the Motor or anyone else have any different thoughts on this?

when it isn't working and it should, if you hit it with a hammer, does it sound like it wants to start? Yours might be too far gone, but take the wire off of it and see if there is voltage there. If there is voltage, replace the motor.

That's what happened on my 03. I mine was slowly dying, and then stopped working. I installed a new one, with the same result. Found out that was bad too. Took it to my mechanic, he threw in a new one, and it's all good.

You could try some electrical contact cleaner in the blower motor vent hole? I have never personally tried this, but.....

I hit a few times with the hammer tonight and it started up but has a faint grinding noise with it when it starts so I am assuming the motor is soon making its final curtain call. How hard is it to replace one of these on an 00+ Bonne?

I expected it to be harder on my 03 leSabre from the postings indicating the carpet thickness kept the body and squirrel cage a little tight to move in and out. But mine had lots of room without removing the carpet.

I bought one at Autozone--had to drive to another one in the area when the local store said that store had 1 of 2 in stock in the Greater Dayton area. But it was on my way to a large cruise-in I like to attend, so that store held the blower for me to pick up later in the day.

Three bolts hold it up. Getting it back in without pinching the air tube that supplies cool air to the rotor was tricky. The base on the replacement was plastic; original was silver metal. There are large rubber cushions at each screw. I figured out don't overtighten them and they help absorb some vibration from the motor.

I'd give it a 2 out of 10 on the difficulty scale. An extra hand to hold the new motor in place would have helped, but not by much.
