OK, those are the 2 you want to jumper across and then turn the key to the on position.

Now we need to get someone with a 93 FSM to let us know which items are on the "B" driver and put a meter on them and see what the resistance is.
Have you had the light come on since that first time? If not, you can disconnect the battery for a five minutes and reset the code and see if it comes back.
Mechanical mike brought it to my attention that the PCM is supposed to be protected from a faulty component on the quad driver circuits, so I doubt that the PCM is bad, we need to see if it comes back and to check the components on that circuit.

I only have the fsm for the 89 and 95, so I have no idea what is controlled on circuit B. I will see if I can find something until then we need to see if someone with the 93 FSM will pop in. Please be patient and we will get it figured out.

from what i can find it controls the egr-boost control and transaxle solenoid if i buy a new ecm thats not gonna fix the problem will it?.thanks

Probably not, we need to check the resistance for each of those and see how different they are. Does the light come on and stay on, or does it just flash and then go out? Does it come on when just cruising down the road or when slowing, stopping?

it seems to come on when slowing down when i give it gas it goes off it may stay on 5 seconds or so never just on

Quad B driver fault is a known issue with the 92/93 PCMs. It doesn't hurt anything when that code is set. But, here is the tech from the '93 FSM...

so ur saying that a new ecm isnt necessary? if i drive it a couple hundred miles it wont hurt the car? untill i can figure out what the exact problem it will be okay to drive? its my only car right now and i drive it alot.........thanks once again to all the responses u guys are the best..............also im moving to georgia in a couple months and i was wondering if its okay to the administators if i might start a chapter for the club down there? also anyone close to me i need to get rid of my 90 yamaha phazer no need for it there its near mint condition if anyone interested let me know ill send u pics...........thanks again....also today on the highway a 2001 mustang pulled along side me about 70mph and wanted to run so we did and the bonney pulled away to about 116mph and about half mile he caught me but he gave me the thumbs up and smiled...dont think he realized the car was that fast..lol

Nope, won't hurt it at all. In fact, the FSM says that the PCM has an internal circuit breaker making replacement unnecessary when this code is set, but the flowchart says different. Many people just ignore the code when they pull DTCs.

This may not be the case on your car, but if error code 56 is present and the engine light comes on roughly 4 or 5 seconds after you let off the gas to decelerate, and the light stays on for a few seconds and then turns off, and this repeats consistently like that and happens only when you decelerate, that behavior has happened twice on my '92 SSE supercharged over the last few years, and in both cases the problem was a defective boost control solenoid. The boost control solenoid is mounted on the front of the supercharger, on the intake side. It's mounted with a single nut and only takes 5 minutes to replace. If the problem isn't the boost control solenoid, I hope it's not the TCC solenoid because the tranny would have to be removed in order to replace that.

what does a new one cost? should i get a new one to eliminate that?.thanks also is there any way to get the check engine light to stay off?

today i drove the car about 30 miles and no check engine light. yesterday i unhooked the boost control and then plugged back in. at first when i started it up it idled rough then it seemed to be fine does that sound like a boost control problem? when i was driving it at a cruising speed like 60mph the car kinda feels like a slight jerking. sound like boost?.thanks...also since i know its a code 56 is there a way to make the check engine light not come on? i know i was told that most people ignore that code how do u ignore the light?
