Okay I painted most of the parking light/blinker reflector gunmetal because it just looked weird to me all chrome.
I got the LEDs in and of course half of one doesn't work once I put the light back together so a new one is in the mail.
I am tryin to pull the Audi look.

Also any one who is doing a retro my black trim just inside the lens was melting from the light hitting it...strange i know...
I put some sheet metal and painted it black so anyone doing this might want to do that.

Any way let me know what ya think.

Edit: I took another long look at them, it's because the tires need some shine! Get some gloss on the tires you slacker! :bhuh:

They definitely look better with some shine on the tire. I think the other thing that looks off with those rims is that they kind of dip in or are concave so it kind of looks a little different. I bet with a drop I bet they'd look really nice! Move down here and you'd be able to run the 20's and not have to worry about it! :P

I actually want to get rid of my rims, 10" tires touch too much pavement and find any imperfection irregardless of how big or small the imperfection.

Can't remember if those were konig or not but do they make them in 18?

I like the leds but I probably wouldn't have put so many in. Although if you add a knight rider scanner that could look sweet! LOL
I'll wait to judge until May.

Wonder what another row of LEDs on the top edge of the light would look like... So you have parallel lines on each headlight...

First, I have to commend you on the work. This looks great.

Now comes the question...

I spoke with someone else who retrofitted a vehicle with projector headlamps in much the same manner as you. What they discovered has me a little concerned and I'm curious what your experience has been.

These, from what I'm told, don't produce near the same amount of heat as the OEM halogen bulbs. Out driving to work one morning in some light snow, this person found it was nearly impossible to see by the time they arrived. The front of the headlights had completely iced over. With very little heat, visibility was reduced to near zero in a relatively short time.

Have you driven with these in adverse condition? I'm curious to know other peoples experiences. I had contemplated do this as well but definitely won't if this is a problem. My understanding, and this hasn't been confirmed by a rock solid source, is that this is why vehicles with projector headlamps have headlamp washers.

Thanks for the compliment.

I am not totally sure if I understand what he was saying but I think I do.

When the lights are on when the headlights are stock the light melts the ice, and with the projectors it did not.

I am not really sure about a snow storm because I have only driven once with them in the snow, which it was coming down pretty good, and I was still very impressed with output.

Whether it made the housings iced up I really didn't pay attention, but I know that I didn't notice anything unusual.

In rain I think the projectors are just as impressive as a dry condition.

I know they are suppose to produce less heat than stock but these things still get very hot as a halogen bulb does, and I just went to the store after reading your post and felt the housings afterwards and they were warm from where the beam of light was hitting the lens.

I hope this helps. If I am not answering at all your question just tell me, lol.
