Since the 3yr 36k factory bumper to bumper is up and I left Friday without buying the warranty the dealer needs to inspect it again to make sure I'm not conning them. Haha. But for $1800 I'd get bumper to bumper coverage for 3yrs and 45k miles from now. I figure if I go through two sets of LCAs it'd be worth it. Plus the extra peace of mind knowing I'd have a loaner if I need it and whatnot.

Got it. Only go GMPP.
You can do it on their website though.

Yeah its GMPP. I made sure of that. It's their platinum coverage or whatever. 3yr/45k. This way maybe I can save more money for mods. :D

This thread has me secretly wishing my car would die so I can try to convince my fiancee to let me buy a G8.

Carl can now insert his official opinion of the car here. He even witnessed it hurting my lower back on a WOT run today. First time that has ever happened to me in any car before, and had nothing to do with the seats.

That sucks about your back, but at the same time is insanely awesome!
Went to a sports bar tonight with some gaming friends, and they loved my G8. Problem is I'm stuck 180 miles from home and that snow storm is coming through. Looks like I'll have to break my promise and drive the car home on snow and salt covered roads.

I love those types of pain! I had the "V" out today too! Gawd how I missed that locomotive like endless surge of supercharged torque and the accompanying burst of acceleration.

Mine got its first snow this morning. Handled it surprisingly well. In some ways it feels better than the Bonneville in the slop.
Hey Lane, maybe someday we'll have to see how the V and the GXP stack up. (Let me mod some things first though, bolt ons only I promise.

)

Hopefully it's warmer than this tomorrow, so the dealer doesn't hear the LCAs creaking.

I might cry if they do. They would still sell me the warranty but they just wouldn't cover the LCAs if that were the case. Fingers crossed.

I've got only bolt-ons too.

I know...

(Keep in mind for now and as far as the dealer will ever be concerned my car is stock.)
Though I'll hate myself if they don't cover the LCAs.

In case anybody is wondering if I've done anything yet, I'm working on replacing the stock speakers (I swear these things are made of toilet paper, ask Carl) with Pioneers in the doors )and eventually the center channel speaker) and Kicker subs in the deck. Stock sizes, but with just the front doors done already it sounds tons better. Should have no problem losing all the distortion these cars make. I also ordered Lamin-X for the fogs, yellow on this one. They actually have pre-cut films for the G8. Decent price too.
I'm setting aside money every week as a mod fund, first comes tint, then axle-backs, then down the rest of my list.
Also I'm excited to do the subs, to extend the RKE range since it's under the deck anyway. It'll be nice to not have a 20' keyless range anymore.
Overall I am in love with this car, it's shockingly well built too. It actually has screws holding the door panels on, not chintzy little clips that break if you look at them crosseyed.
I also enjoy the car not turning brown with a drive in the rain or snow. It still looks pretty clean after 100mi in slop this morning. I totally love the red on this car.
I feel like I'm rambling, as usual. So I'll just leave with a picture, saw a LR V6 G8 at Wal-Mart this morning, took a pic for the spotted G8s thread on CHC.
Hard to spot differences unless they're side by side like this.
P.S. My hood vents are now functional.

Thanks for the help on that one Carl!

Where have I said that before...

That's one of the things that made me want a Holden built car. Was you commenting on how well put together the GTO is opposed to the Caddy.

Hey, FWIW, my '86 & '89 doors have screws holding them on in 6 or 8 spots.
I say she still needs some whine though.

I was referring to the 00+ mostly with that comment. Even with broken clips my LeSabres doors were still solid. The Limo with 100% perfect clips still rattled with some midbass. Couldn't get rid of it, so I just turned up the stereo. But the GXP the panels simply don't rattle.
And give me ~$7k and I'll supercharge it! I'd even put my RED WHNE plates on it.
Speaking of which I think "Aussiac" is going to be the winner for my new plates.

Yea, a few screws does not equal the Holden where everything is screwed together and torqued to maximum spec. I look at the Caddy and the underbody shrouds, rocker panels, and other attached body parts start to fall off. I can't get over how an $80k car brand new is put together like a Cavalier. Yesterday, I took the door panel off the Suburban, and of course, break half the little white christmas tree pins, so now I get rattles in the door.

How are you going to extend keyless range?
