Sorry I cant pinpoint the names

Post by kcoop99 »

Last night while fixing a coolant leak in my 2000 ssei, I was revving the motor by hand under the hood and noticed (here's where you have to bear with me) a diaphram looking thing toward the front (of the car) of the supercharger that had a rod that moved when I revved the engine. Thing is, this 'rod' did not move in sync with the throttle. Is this the boost control for the supercharger. Did I make any sense here? Is this SUPPOSED to move in sync with the throttle? If anyone can make this more technical, please do! Thanks!

and no, it will not be in perfect sync with the throttle. I believe it is based on engine vacume, which may be similiar to throttle, but will not be the same. One of our gearheads may be able to step in and clarify this.

Boost solenoid! That sounds right. I was just curious if it needed to be in synch. Guess not.

When you give it a rev, the arm should move down fast, and then suck right back up after you let off.
