It rained about 2" from sunday through monday and my dad and I found an inch of water above the carpet in my back seat. Drilled a couple holes in the back floorpans to drain it and shopvac'ed as much water out as we could. Took it to our mechanic/body man to check on the sunroof drains and the rear passenger one was leaking. He also replaced the front left wheel bearing which he said was the worst one he'd ever seen (it had been clicking since monday). Metal shavings all over and it was noisy when he was spinning it on the vise. Anyway, here's the current state of my girl...
I also found this... Not too bad for an hours work...
Do yourself a favor and take that carpet all the way out. The center console is only held in with 8 - 10mm bolts. The carpet will dry much faster out of the car.
While you have the carpet out, have someone spray water all over over your car to test for leaks. There might be more than just that 1 drain.

Does the shifter or anything else need to be disconnected? I haven't looked at it closely enough to see what all has to be done.
Well ya. First remove the shifter knob, then the shifter bezel, and then the dash bezel. Disconnect the 2 cables that are connected to the shifter, and then the electrical connections. There are 4 bolts that hold the console to the dash, and 4 bolts that hold the console to the floor.

Ugg, that sucks. Glad you're taking care of it. I'm sure I'll get a leak somewhere someday as a lot of ppl seem to get them. I always check the bottom of my trunk in the spare tire and expect to find water. So far so good!
Glad you caught it now before it started doing damage.
Finally dug into the front drains last night and found both of them were unhooked. I double zip tied them so they should be good to go for a while (yeah I know, I should have used hose clamps). I also zip tied the connections in the trunk since I think the passenger side one may have been leaking. Hopefully this will solve any future leakage issues. Overall, 4 hours last night to figure out the drains and getting all the interior put back in. Unfortunately I broke the passenger B-pillar trim in half at the joint so I'm going to have to epoxy that back together. I'm so glad to be back in my car...

Been there, done that!

While I was getting my interior trim pieces out of my trunk to finally get the car completely back together, I found water in the spare tire well... So now the trunk is gutted and I may have to find a friend and a hose tonight...
