buck when shift..Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Stuck On??

Post by kp8420 »

trying to pass echeck and the P0742-Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Stuck On code comes up....as well as after the car has been running awhile, when its shifting gears, it bucks hard, when this happens, I have to be easy on the gas when i know its about to shift....im thinking the code and this problem is related......i tried researching this online to fix at home....could this be a stuck TCC solenoid, maybe, hopefully a switch that could be replaced at home....could a transmission fluid and filter change clean out the TCC solenoid.......Im no mechanic, but it happened real bad the other day...had to keep at 10 to 20 mph on the road...till i shut the car off for 15-20min and it drove home fine....??, hopefully i can buy a switch that, as im guessing here, is related to the TCC system... it'd be nice to not have to take this to a shop, any solutions i can try at home?

You can try a can of Sea Foam's Trans Tune and see if that frees things up. There has been some success using that with a sticking pressure control solenoid. Then, change the fluid and filter.
