OOHHHH, the Grizz. Sorry, a bit slow. You may be able to get ahold of those wires by the compressor in the engine bay then. Havent looked at that.

ELC fuses from 92-95 are in the passenger cabin main fuse panel above the pedals.

Your owner's manual should be able to tell you which one. I don't recall on the 94/95 off the top of my head, I just pull out the manual at the track.

92/93 are fuse 12 IIRC, but check on that if it interests anyone.

Ah, I see it here in the owners manual in position 9B a 20 amp Level Control fuse.
It's in the fuse panel to the left of the steering wheel under the instrument panel.

Heh! There is another fuse panel on the passenger side on the far right with fuses for door locks, Power antenna, locks, cruise, fuel pump, injectors, and ECM. I never knew. :eek2:

It says in the manual that changing fuses in this panel is very difficult and to see a dealer for replacement.

Tried to do the ELC trick at the track today and found out my pump is cycling but not pumping up the rears.
Got home and took it out and there's a crack in the side (could feel the air coming out when it was on) :angry4:
Man! I'm having a bad month!

Put the new pump in, however, I'm not quite sure it's working the way it's supposed to. (EDIT: pump did not come with dryer, so I used original dryer)
Here's a pic of how it's hooked up behind the rear seat, in the trunk.
Shouldn't the shradder valve at the back of the car purge air when the system is charged?
I let it run for five minutes and it ran the whole time. Checked the rear shradder valve and no air came out when depressed.
I tried unplugging the two wire harness to see if the rear of the car would raise up and nothing happened.
I tried switching the bottom (gray) and top (black) connectors and let that run for a while with the plug undone.
The middle piece got really hot. When I unhooked them, air came out of both ends. I'm wondering if that middle piece is faulty. Any ideas?

That middle piece is the selector valve. Electric solenoid valve to direct air either to the inflator or the struts.

If it's stuck, remove it and liberally douse the insides with 3-in-1 oil. Squirt it in the air fitting on top, let it soak. Do the same upside down for the other fitting. Then hook it up to the harness and cycle your inflator. It might free up.

Otherwise, it's off to the wrecker for you.

Trying to look up the solenoid in question and can't find it.
I think GM parts direct is listing the part as a Pressure limiter valve under "Ride Control" for my year. Is that right?

Took out the solenoid, threw some 3 in 1 oil and put it back in. Got air in the back shradder valve now, however, I tried unplugging the two wires and the car did not raise up. Let the compressor run for 3 minutes. Any ideas?

Either a severe leak between the valve and the struts, or the valve is stuck. I'd try a valve from the wrecker first. I've never heard of one failing.

Just ordered a new valve from vintage parts inc. GM Part # 22153754.
Does anyone happen to know if the light blue wire should be on the left or the right side in the picture I posted? The plug can be reversed and I'm not sure if it's on the right way.

it doesnt matter, otherwise they would have keyed it to only go on one way.

Solenoid valve installed last night. Part came with both the valve and the 7 pin plastic box just above the valve.
I have much better pressure at the back schradder valve, however, I tried pulling that two wire connector and the compressor ran, but the car didn't go up like it should. I'm thinking I might have bad struts in the back. Going to pull off one airline at a time from the struts and see if air is making it to them.

Couldn't you just cut one wire at the two-wire connector from the ELC/inflator selector valve then wire in a switch. When you want to inflate turn switch off. Then wire in a switch to the fuse and turn that switch off to hold it up.

How much should the rear raise up with this trick?

generally 3 to 4 inches. over extending them isnt good for them either.

Oh. Guess I was a little over expecting. I thought it was more than that. In that case, I think the trick is working as it's supposed to. I noticed the rear end was very firm (hard to push down), but since I had the back end up in the air (doing rear drums), the struts were fully extended and the car was already lifted up while on the ground. I will check tonight if it raises and by how much and report back.

Yes, mine only goes up about 2" from 29" to 31" from underside of rear wheel arch lip to the ground.
