Floor Mats/Liners

Post by bing98 »

I scored a little old lady owned, 34,000 mile 02 SLE. The interior is nearly flawless and I want to preserve it as best I can. Sadly I have to drive it during the New England winter. It appears Weather Tech no longer makes a custom fit liner and neither does Husky.

Are their any available that will actually line the foot wells and go up the sides a bit to capture all the snow, salt and sand? If not, what is a good alternative all-weather mat/liner for our cars?

Thanks

I have two layers of generic mats, they cover everything pretty well.

These are hands down the best universal floor mats I've ever used.

Never did get the floor mats, but protected it with that carpet mask used in RV's ad such. Had the carpets out due to sunroof leaks and had it professionally cleaned. It's back together so I would like to get some quality mats.

I checked with Weather Tech and they don't do custom orders. I did some research. The GM G platform is a modified H platform that the Bonnie was built on. The Buick Lucerne was produced until 2011 and Weather Tech still sells liners for it. The G and H platforms do share a number of components including the rear floor and rails. If they also share that rest of the floor pan the Lucerne liners will fit the Bonneville.

Any input on this would be much appreciated.

Thanks

The Lucerne and the 2000+ Bonneville have a different wheel base, I truly doubt the mats from the Lucerne will work on the 2000+.

Actually someone I know has a 2010 Lucerne - and I did a quick check.

The factory Lucerne mats do indeed fit the 00+ Bonneville.

The Lucerne mats are slightly smaller than the Bonniville's in the front and slightly larger than the Bonneville's in the back.

I will try to get a more thorough comparison.

That's awesome. I did some more research and feel there's a good chance the floor pan is the same. Like I said before, the GM parts catalog shows the same rear floor and rails were used in both cars. There's no listing on the front floor pan. The Lucerne's wheelbase is 3" longer and the track width is identical. I suspect that the additional wheelbase was added from the cowl forward. I was tempted to approach a gentleman in his parked Lucerne at Wally World, but thought better of it due to Covid. You just don't know these days so I didn't want to freak him out for a floor mat comparison. LOL

Please keep us posted. I really would like the WeatherTech liners as they protect the carpet completely. No other brand seems to some close. I found some custom, made to order floor mats form some place in China. Look pretty cool, but I'm skeptical. Anybody have experience with these........
