New sending unit and TRE pump in. Also put in TB spacer.
Still seeing KR. Ordered Caspers fuel pump hot wire kit and waiting on HP tuner to come in.

Go for the rocker arm upgrade.
It made my car have 0 KR under all load conditions!
It will only benefit you as more air in and out helps dramatically.

Wow, IDK how much money you've dumped into this and still have KR. Major bummer!! At least you'll have one heck of a beast when you're through troubleshooting!

Then again, my L36 suffers from a bit of KR. Not much, not all the time, but it's there. I hope the PCM will clear that up, as well as a few other gripes I have.

Rockers and cam are next year's project. Will's right. I'm just looking to fix the problem right now. Hopefully, I can tune it out when the programmer gets here.

Do you have anyone local that knows how to tune these cars?

Look on the bright side...you've already installed most of the supporting mods for a cam or rockers so next years project shouldn't cost too much. Assuming the trans holds out you'll be sitting on a mid 13sec car.

Yeah, I know someone who will help me dial in my car once I get my programmer.
I'm shooting for mid 13s by the end of this season. Next year's goal: high 12s. :twisted:
Just finished installing the Caspers fuel pump hot wire kit. Having a technical issue (not starting). Waiting for Caspers to get back to me with tech support.

EDIT: Woo Hoo! Just got confirmation shipping email that my HP Tuner is in route!

Don't count on it. You'll need at least rockers or a cam to hit that.

Anyway, have you replace the fuel pressure regulator yet? Sorry this post is kinda long and I might have overlooked that.

No. FPR is original. We tested pressure at the rails and it is within normal specs (see earlier posts maybe 2 or 3 pages back).
I noticed Saturday night that my LTFT wouldn't go below 10.9. I reset the fuel trim and so far has been going down to (or close to) 0.0 under WOT.

The hotwire kit I installed yesterday isn't working. The wiring harnesses to the sending unit were wired up wrong. Casper's sending me adapters to fix (should arrive tomorrow).

On a brighter note: HP Tuner arrives today!!

What is this "hotwire kit" you speak of? I'm not aware of whatever this is/does.

Replaces the stock, inadequate 18 gauge wire with a new 12 gauge feed using all OEM plug and play connectors as well as increasing the voltage at the fuel pump on average 2.5 volts.

Our wiring isn't as bad as the 18 gauge wiring on the W-bodies, though powering the fuel pump directly from the alternator can't hurt. I haven't installed my hotwire kit yet since I've been too lazy to adapt it to work with our fuel pump control module and our sending unit, and everytime I am working on the car it's because something more important needs done. Let me know how the kit works out for you.

The problem is my bonneville uses a PWM controller for the fuel pump. Should hear back from Caspers today.

Saturday morning, I'm planning on logging my 50 mile scan, then adjusting the PRIMARY VE vs. RPM vs. MAP table.

The VE tune is a pain, and imo seems to be the longest part of tuning since your car will run like *shoot* during most of it (no MAF sensor). Make sure that the air pressure, temperature, humidity (anything that changes air density) is pretty much the same each time you go out to tune that table. It took me 5 tries to get most of my fuel trims to fall into the -3 to 0 range, and it's not unheard of for it to take 8 or more tries to get it right so don't get discouraged when your numbers bounce all over the place.

I'm on rev 7 of my VE table and I just got into the negative trims this morning. I'll likely be at rev 10+ before I'm happy enough with it to move on.
