Sunroof Drain Hoses

Post by White64Goat »

I have read most of, if not all the sunroof posts but have a few year specific questions that other posts didn't seem to answer.

I assume most of the leaks are caused by the plastic drain tubes coming disconnected from the rubber drain lines, that being said, on the 2005, where are the drain lines for the rear drains routed? Do they exit down through the rear seat side trim panel area or do they run through the trunk and exit behind the rear wheel? I've seen pictures for 2000 and 2004, but not the 2005. If they exit through the trunk area, where is the connection from the tube to the rubber hose located? Thanks.

The tubes for the rear on my 04 GXP drains are in the trunk... pull back carpet from the side of
the trunk, back part of the wheel well (in trunk) the tubes connect to a grommet that will exit out the rear fenders.
mine were lose and not angled properly, I used zip ties as hose clamps. hope this helps
the connections are in the shape of an "L" just so you know.

2000-05 are all the same. There is no difference in this body style design. As mentioned, the rear don't connect to a rubber hose, only to a body grommet that the body wiring also passes through. There's a duck bill type valve on the exterior side of the grommet to prevent water from entering the trunk from the outside.
