first time at the strip, CTS

Post by jakhammer »

went to MidMichigan Motorplex today to see what the CTS would do. Bone stock (other than the heavy 18s), 2005 3.6L CTS 5spd Auto with 85k on the clock and just under a 1/4 tank for gas.
best run was a hotlap and my last run. temp was 82 degrees, not sure what the DA was, i have not looked it up.
60' - 2.110
1/8 - 9.615 @ 73.39
1/4 - 14.967 @ 91.60

not to bad when I was hoping to maybe run a 15.3x and maybe 90mph.

Now I just need to put the CAI on and try it on a much cooler day.

Not bad at all Chris. I just really wish that I would have been able to go with you guys. Sometime we will for sure get our cars lined up :)

Any way you can scan the slip or take a pic of it and post it up?

I still find it funny that the best run was a hot lap. I never did ask you at work last night, but what did your slowest time end up being?

the 300+hp 3.6 is a direct injected motor. Mine is 255hp 252ftlbs with variable valve timing. This motor has one of the flattest torque curves I have ever seen. Will it might not be the most exciting motor I have ever seen, it does pull hard and the power is smooth as silk from 3000 to 6800. It fits right in place with the rest of the overbuilt Caddy.

It is a very nice engine, revs smooth and fast. It will also put you sideways in a hurry if you want to

Well, maybe not with the new tires and rims eh Chris :laughing3:

yeah, the new wheels and tires make it a bit harder to kick the arse out, but its not impossible.
