Re: My 2002 Bonneville rebuild | Update 1-16-2014
It's almost done!! Got it very close today, since it was at the school it took a little longer than expected, but I got it painted and mostly buffed today. All I have to do is put the grille in and buff out the headlight. Hopefully I'll get around to taking proper pictures as soon as I get it out!
Ready to paint:

cleared and untaped:

Untitled by JMM8476, on Flickr
as it sits now, waiting for the grille and headlight restoration(passenger side only):

As soon as I can afford it I need to buy a Pontiac tag insert since the aftermarket one doesn't say Pontiac.
Hope everyone's enjoyed the pictures so far!

Thanks guys! Im glad that I was able to fix it, its in great running shape and I'd hate to see it just go to a junkyard. I also gained valuable experience by doing it myself.

The aftermarket bumpers seem to leave the Pontiac emblem recess off for some reason (copyright)?
Your work is really paying off.
Great job!

Re: My 2002 Bonneville rebuild | Update 2-6-2014
Yeah, it's got something to do with copyright I believe. Same reason Pontiac is left off of the tag area. My instructor told me that any bumper that had a recessed emblem does not have it in the aftermarket version. Maybe it won't bother me too bad, if I had had the extra money to go for the OEM bumper I would have.1tinindian wrote:The aftermarket bumpers seem to leave the Pontiac emblem recess off for some reason (copyright)?
