Dannyg420: I have the same year and model as you. Take my advice and get a ZZ Perf downpipe and a hi-flow catalytic converter form this company as they are cheap BUT legal and OBD-II compatible. Get the one they offer for H bodies. It is 3" but comes down to 2.5" at the backside, so it's super easy to weld to 2.5 pipes right off the back of the cat, or downpipe if you don't have/run a cat.

I got this catalytic and downpipe for my car and it's been on about 2 weeks...no codes, smaller and lighter than original, so far so good. I have my stocker in case anything goes nuts. I got rid of my stock resonator, bad move because now the car just sounds like a ticked off bumblebee with the stock single muffler..... Her's where to get the catalytic http://www.performanceexhaustplus.com/c ... ength.html

I went with the ceramic catalytic, but some say go metallic...

The downpipe and the cat above WILL make a difference, especially in mid and upper RPM. Yes, it helped my low-end torque some, but not nearly as much as middle and up. (Don't forget the 3" gasket you need for connecting downpipe to exhaust manifold...ZZ has them as does AutoZone, etc.)

I went to youtube and found a clip of a Bonneville, normally aspirated 2002 or 2003 I believe. It had Thrush Turbo mufflers (don't know about resonator or glasspack), but it sounded more like a V8 of any clip I've heard so far.

Here's a great muffler source, they are good. http://www.performanceexhaustplus.com/c ... ength.html I had 2 different versions on 2 of my 3 mid-90's GMC?Chevy trucks. Sound MEAN with and without catalytic, 2.5 pipes, and downright like a racecar via headers. None of the famous Flow drone either, just deep and strong. Note my trucks all had 5.7 V8 engines, no V6's so that is a consideration.

I wrote the guy about some muffles for my car, again same as yours. He recommended his PRO Street 6000 series. I just have not ordered yet. They are fast, build great products and will ship very fast.

Yes, sort of...to have dual tips out the back you need a Y-pipe transition. Summit sells them from Magnaflow but they are $73.73, so I've been looking for a cheaper version. Summit part number.... mpe-10734

I'll try and get some pics in the next few days.

I put dual exhaust on my se. The local exhaust shop custom made a y pipe. I havent upgraded the downpipe yet, but had the resonator removed. They did a great job angling the mufflers and dual tips.

Heres my finished product.
