Re: supercharger oil
No, it's a special formula, and not made from motor oil or anything like it. I believe it contains animal fats, and anything else will nuke the gears and bearings.
Either one of these: http://intense-racing.com/Merchant2/mer ... _Induction
Or two 4oz. bottles from your GM Dealer.

Re: supercharger oil
Thank you so much. I went to GM motors and I was able to buy it there. The oil level is full but I guess the supercharger pulley is bad because of the noise is making. Is there a place where the supercharger pulley can be found ?

Re: supercharger oil
It is most likely the coupler. Take the belt off and turn the SC pulley back and forth and see if there is any slop.
Re: supercharger oil
Most likely SC coupler.. replacements can be bought at ZZPerformance, Intense and a few other venders. if it sounds like marbles or gravel rolling around in the snout end of the blower this indicates a bad coupler.

Here is the "COMMON PROBLEMS POST"
Supercharger rattles only at idle
Problem: The coupler in the nose of the supercharger is worn, causing a rattle only at idle.
Solution: To confirm it is the coupler, remove the SC belt and rotate the pulley back and forth. If there is noticeable slop in the pulley, the coupler is bad. More information: http://www.3800supercharger.net/diagnosing.html
http://www3.sympatico.ca/aepa/blowerinstall.html
Estimated Cost: $20~ for coupler, or $40~ for kit with coupler, gasket maker, and SC oil.

Re: supercharger oil
Yes. It makes like marbles noises and they are loud but after like 20 min of running the car the noise goes away but once it's cool down and I turned it on it when the noise starts...

Re: supercharger oil
So apperantly the sounds is not coming from the snout of the supercharger but from the pulley. Does anyone have had this prob?

Re: supercharger oil
It could be the bearings in the snout. Use a stethecope and listen to the area right behind the pulley. A screwdriver to the ear can be used also.
You can get rebuilt snouts from ZZP and other suppliers, but you would need to source a way to get the pulley swapped or buy a modular system.
Verify the bearings are bad first. Take the belt off and see if the noise is still there.

Re: supercharger oil
I agree, sounds like a snout bearing.. get a snout from a vender and also replace the coupler while apart, probably warn anyhow.. dont forget the SC oil when ordering stuff. the vendor should be able to press on a pulley or a hub if you order one... This is a good time to get it done, free labor is nice... esp sence the pulley swap is a Pain to do.

Re: supercharger oil
They pulley itself doesn't have any bearings or internal parts. It's just a solid piece. Not gonna make any noise.

Re: supercharger oil
Pulley itself won't make noise, but the small bearing immediately behind it will, and will transfer the sound down the shaft to the pulley to echo.

Re: supercharger oil
Gonna be the elephant in the room here.
While it's true that GM and Ford have the best oil for superchargers (and the recommended), it's not the only thing to use. The M112 guys have successfully used Royal Purple motor oil for a while now, and I've read where one guy even tore his down after a year of running it, JUST to see if there was any damage to the bearings. NO damage was found, and from what I read he wasn't easy on it.
Another guy had access to something else entirely, and it totally makes sense to me...Mobil 1 jet turbine oil. It actually costs LESS compared to the animal fat oil, though you have to buy more of it to get a hold of it. A quart of it costs something like 30 bucks, so it still isn' that bad all things considered.
The concensus for the M112 fellas is that if you run a GOOD synthetic oil in your supercharger, you will have no issues. I can't see any difference with the M90 or M62 for that matter.

Re: supercharger oil
That other elephant in the room over there seems to keep asking me this:
"Are you sure its not one of the idler pulleys for the SC belt? It is far more common for these to go than the snout bearing."
... but its probably my imagination since its the pink one.
(Just a suggestion)
