Grand Prix GXP transmission compatability?

Post by crappiefisher »

I have a friend that just wrecked his 07 GXP(so sad...), but anyways, it only has 90k on the tranny, it looks like the transmission didn't sustain any damage from the wreck, but I was wondering if it would fit my 2000 SSEi? They are both 4T65-HD's right? He said he would sell it to me for a good price, and at 172k, it would be nice to retire this trans before I mod my car.

It would bolt up, but thats about it. Different gearing, no rear mount bracket, etc...

No actually it wouldn't. The starter is bolted to the trans, and the rest is different as well. I literally won't fit.

And actually, it's not a -HD trans. It's got different internals, but not the same -HD diff the 3800 S/C motors got.

And 90k on a GXP trans is like 200k behind an L36, LOL.

See if he'll give you the front brakes and/or the rims for $100! Those will fit on your bonne.

FWIW, the front calipers are what you want. I'm not sure on the compatibility of the rear calipers, I think they're different. Then get a pair of Bonne GXP rotors and GP pads (not sure if they're different), and you're set.
