so i bought some wheels...
Picked up a set of vette "sawblades" for $50...
Anyone think they'll fit?
They'll look great if I can "stance" it properly.
Any suggestions on suspension options?
DIY front coilovers?

They will not fit.
You can get adapters to make them fit but that might push them out too far.

Yup RWD rims dont fit on FWD and I think they will be toooooo wide.
I think these are the specs...
1985 (base) front & rear 16"x8.5" 32mm (6.0" backspacing)

Bolt pattern is wrong, it's 5 x 4.75" (aka 5 x 120.6mm). Bonnevilles are 5 x 115mm. This is before we even get into offset.
Many modern cars today blur the lines between RWD and FWD fitment wheels (2005+ Mustangs come with FWD type offsets, for example), but generally speaking putting a RWD wheel on a FWD car will cause it to stick out super far.

Re: so i bought some wheels...
I'm sure you can make them fit. Smaller cars do it (including VWs/Cobalts/etc) without issue.
See if anyone has re-drilled them that far, see if wobble bolts will get you that far, stretch the tires if needed, and add negative camber if needed. Make sure you make them hub-centric too.
Camber will help out a lot. I run -1 FR -1.5 RR on my Bonnie. Running -1.5/-2 won't look too aggressive and won't chew up the tires. Toe kills tires not 1-2 degrees of negative camber.
And of course, roll your fenders..
DIY front coilovers would be the same procedure as GPs. Find the $175 DIY coilovers thread on ClubGP and read through the whole thing.

Motorsport-tech did 3 redrills for me.
If you do an aggressive stretch, make sure you're tucking tire. Anything less just doesn't look right.
I like a tiny bit of stretch.. I run 225s on an 8", 245s on a 9" and 275s on a 10".
9s and 10s:

How long do tires last when you stretch/mangle em all up like that?

Re: so i bought some wheels...
depends on the contact patch.. as said before.. toe kills tires not 1-2* of negative camber.
