Interior Lights not working...

Post by onesidered »

Hi Guys,

I replaced a blown fuse a couple weeks ago when I noticed the interior lights didn't come on when I opened the doors. Well, I noticed it again tonight that the lights are out and the trunk light is out... Should I just keep replacing fuses, or is it something more serious?

Thanks

The fact that you're regularly replacing fuses means that there is a bigger problem. Fuses blow when their Amp rating in exceeded. So either you have too little resistance somewhere in the circuit or there is a short.

Some have had problems with the wiring to the visors shorting out and blowing the fuse.

Same problem showed up for me last night, very inconvenient.

I have the same issue. Replaced the fuse and it worked for awhile, then noticed a few days later the lights were out again.

After reading a bunch I decided to try disconnecting the driver side sunvisor wiring. Haven't gotten to it yet as it involves dropping the headliner in front to get to the harness.

If that doesn't do it I am at a loss. My car shows no signs of water damage under the carpets or in the trunk.

I am putting my money on my passenger sunvisor. It was used the afternoon I noticed mine stopped working.
