high Beam switch

Post by nack1991 »

Does anyone know how the rod for the high beams hooks to the turn signal? My high beams work but when you pull the handle there's no "click" and the lights don't change, took the cover off the column and noticed that the rod was not hooked up, when i popped the cover off, a black piece fell out. I tried hooking it to the rod, but the rod pushes and the handle pulls, I'm so confused.

I had this same problem,It is not easy to put back in and from what I remember you will be on your back for some time.It goes under the cover you spoke of and is held in by tension from the high beam rod. When you look at the area you will see where it goes, disconnect the rod at the bottom first to make it possible to replace the piece,be careful once it is place as to not jarring it loose as you re-hook the rod at the bottom.Good luck,it took me quite a while and several attempts to accomplish this seemingly simple task.
