How do you get to the tail lights in the trunk lid ive got one out on the left side. Do you actually have to take the assembly off because i reached back there and couldnt get to the bulb?

I have not checked but I will be needing to replace the same light, I think that you need to remove the few screws that are on the bottom next to the handle but that is a guess.

Yeah you have to remove the light or at least part way remove it to get to the lights. I havent had mine off in awhile so I couldnt give you exact steps but I remember it required a few words of encouragement.

I tried taking those 4 nuts on the inside off plus the other one hiding in there deeper but the the whole light unit wouldnt budge. Is that the way its supposed to come off though? I didnt want to screw something up so i put them back on. Either i wasnt doing something right or that piece has just never been off before and its stuck on there with some silicon or something.

There are 4 deep screws across the back, If its never been off before its going to be tight. And the possibilty is endless if there was silicone or and adhesive used

Have you owned the car since new?

Yeah I figured there must be some kind of sealant holding it on, and no I've only had the car for a year now.
