Need help, please

Post by AJT2004 »

I had opened up a thread that involved replacing the CPS, becasue of this code reading-

P0341
Camshaft position sensor A circuit Range/performance (bank 1 or single sensor)

The problem now is, the check engine light came on again after replacing the CPS with the same code as before. The car starts fine but stopped and idling at light something doesn't feel right. The car almost feels like it is going to stall, thank you for all your responses it is appreciated.

Did you verify the interrupter (magnet) was in the camshaft sprocket?

I referenced your code in Alldata. They're suggesting that you look for arcing or carbon tracking on any of the secondary ignition wires - and - that this could be the result of a faulty coil. I'm wondering if it's possible you may be able to fix the trouble by cleaning the coil posts? Sounds too easy but maybe...

Arcing coil has nothing to do with the cam position sensor. The typical failure is either a missing interrupter, damaged wiring or a bad sensor.

Thank you for the quick and helpful replies, I have replaced the CPS, intertupter is there(as shown, using the mirror) , and visual

inspected the wiring. The problem still exists, the check engine light is off but after using the OBD it shows the code is still there :dontknow:

THanks again

Clear the codes and see if it comes back. If it does, inspect your wiring from the CPS up to the ICM harness. Have you ever lost a belt on the car that could have damaged the wires?

Thanks for all the help, the problem is fixed.

The problem was i put the K&N filter on without mounting it in the fender, so it sat on top of the PCM. After driving around like that for

a month or so, the metal mesh around the filter rubbed away at the wires leading to the PCM and was causing a misfire :banghead: .
