Updated Pics!

Post by redwingsfan34 »

Well finally have some updated pics of Monster.
Been about 5 months since I bought it. It's been a lot better than the Blazer. All i've had to do for "repairs" is Tune-up and rear brakes. Everything else has been a mod or just trying to get better MPG's (which by the way i'm up to high 11's city about 1 mpg better than my Blazer :P )
Some of the stuff I've done since the last pics: (which can be seen here)
Swapped out my axles with the 4:56 gears for a set of axles with 3:73 - way better on the mpg's
Homemade Gap guards - fill the gap in the rear wheel well because of the body lift - they cost about $60 online, i made a set with some scrap material i had around the house for $0 :)
Polished my headlights - they look tons better, i actually got good at it and did my buddys truck too.
Tint - 5% back Window 20% Sides
Stickers - Monster Windshield, Monster "Slashes" on Side windows, and Skillet on the back window (thanks NHOlds)
Got rid of the subwoofer box i had for a box that fits under the back seat. I had the box i used in the trunk of the Bonneville, just sitting on the rear seat in the truck. So it went from 5 person to a 3 person truck.
Headman Shorty Headers - Got em for cheap, just the start of the exhaust overhaul.
I think that's about it... anywho enough chatter - on with the pics:

Don't Mind the dirty engine bay - mud does that for some reason :-$

Again ignore the pile of wires - they were too long after i put in the new box, i just havn't got around to cutting and hiding them yet. The box just went in yesterday.

Now i just have to update my sig...

Looking Good!!

Your body lift is really evident when you look at the rear bumper to hitch clearance. Not that big of a gap on a stock truck, lol.
Bye Bye:

I bought it for 6K with 170,000ish, which may seem like a lot, but up here trucks go for a lot more than other places. And to find a truck this age in this good of shape and not over 200k is rare. Some may say i paid too much, but i'm happy with my purchase and i plan on driving this thing til the wheels fall off, then fixing it up and driving it some more

Yea, it was worse before the gap guards... I mentioned when i got the truck that i'm not the biggest fan of body lifts, if it was my choice when this truck was built it would've gotten a 6" or 8" Suspension lift and no body lift. But it's growing on me. And I'm thinking about filling in the space between the bumper and the hitch with some reverse lights... With this window tint and soon the tinting of the tails I'll need some extra lighting when I'm backing up anyway, and it should fill up that space nicely.

And yes it is fun off-road
