High pitched whining...

hey all,

when i'm running under 1500 rmp's, i notice a very high pitch whining coming from my engine. when i rev it to above 1500, whether i'm parked, in drive, or in neutral, it still whines. any ideas?

Could be a number of things, but probably the PS pump or another bad pulley. Remove the belt to see if the sound goes away.

i'm not that knowledgeable with mechanic stuff... i just wanted to see if there was anyone on here that could isolate the problem for me....

dang, that sounds like a great plan... except i'm leaving st. joseph (a town about 10 minutes away) at about 9am for home (my school is just starting our easter break).... if you'd be thru before 9 that'd be great, if not, well, maybe next time...

monday evening for me... dang, maybe next time. i'll have the mechanics in my town look at it, they always to a good job. next time you come thru tho, you, me, and marty should all get together. marty is gonna give me a gutted airbox that he has sittin around, and i STILL need to port and LIM i got summer of '08..... haha. been waiting on marty to get me some aluminum gaskets, but he just hasn't gotten around to doing it i guess...

Check the PCV valve and o-ring.
