It would come with the territory. But don't use it just to gain gas mileage, do it because a clean engine is a happy engine

No real MPG increase, as posted above a clean engine is a happy one. Itll probly take a few times with the reg seafoam to get stuff clean but it def doesnt hurt. And if ur sig is right 18 MPG, in town im assuming(?), is pretty darn good to begin with. Granted some after this may post "I get 22 in town", but as you know we dont all drive the same, some as grannys and other treat it like a race car, but you are on the right track as far as Im concerned.

I got 13 mpg in town yesterday. Lots of idling and low-speed operation will do that...

I've heard some people do the same thing as Seafoam with hot water used in small quantities and introduced very gingerly.

Is there a thread on this forum that has all of these suggestions wrapped up into one big 'tune your Bonneville up' section? I'm trying to soak all this up to get mine running optimally and so far my list includes:

• Seafoam (Gas)
  Seafoam (Transtune)
  Amsoil P.i.
  Lucas TransFix
  Dexron VI Trans Fluid

Is there a preferred order to do all this 'tuning'? Also, I'm getting the impression that the Seafoam Transtune is only for when you're going to change the tranny fluid? Does the same go for any of the other listed items, and have I missed anything that I should be doing? I picked up a cabin air filter this week that I'm going to install this weekend as well. Thx.

Seafoam for the gas can be run anytime, but I like to run it right after a fuel filter change, so it's not pushing gunk caught by the filter to the injectors.

Transtune yes should be run just before you plan on changing fluid.

Lucas transfix can be added anytime, but I add it when I'm changing the fluid, and count it as part of the total capacity.

Dex VI, well...obviously you pour that in when you change fluid, lol.

Not sure about the Amsoil, I don't use it and I'm not sure what it is offhand.

Dan, Amsoil PI is a stouter, more expensive version of Techron Concentrate or Regane. If I used that, I wouldn't bother with Seafoaming the car. The PI will take care of the carbon buildup over a tank of gas instead of 15 minutes.

I Seafoam'd the gas last weekend. Didn't get any cloud of smoke or any noticeable blowout really. The car already runs pretty smooth, maybe it's smoother, can't really tell.

You wont get a cloud when you put it in the gas. Its when you suck it up a vacuum line and use it to decarbonize the intake is when you get it.

How long will it take for the cat to burn off all the stuff it's so quickly ingesting after the engine pukes out a belly full of carbon and seafoam? Just a thought, where I'm from we need to have our vehicles emission tested every two years, I'd hate to run seafoam through my engine just before an emission test just to see it fail. Any ideas on how much time I should give the cat to clean itself out?

LOVE seafoam. Pour some in my snowmobile at every fill-up. stabil in the tank during the summer, and a little bit of oil in the jugs for storage.

My cousin ross swears by the stuff. My sled's 24 years old, was rebuilt in 1990, so 20 years ago, hasn't been rebuilt once since then. Still pulls 110lbs in each cylinder.

He had it for about 2 years before i got it, last year, and even when he had it, he seafomed the crap out of it. It's just great stuff... plain and simple.
