how much do hood vents help?

Talk about modifications, or anything else associated with performance enhancements. Have a new idea for performance/reliability? Post it here. No idea is stupid! (please use Detailing and Appearance for cosmetic ideas)

Don't waste your time on hood scoops.

The cool air is drawn from UNDER the car, up around the motor, and out the hood vents.

excellent point, Bill. I would have never thought of thought, one of those things you just know, but don't take into everyday consideration. :hail:

I will read the other link that you posted, but do you remember what those vents are off of? Again, I will read the other link too, may just be getting ahead of myself.

Trans AM GTA hood vents. It's actually a 4-piece set, you don't use the two narrow ones.

(I've considered adding them as fender vents)

I have done alot of flow/temperature experiments under the hood. We'll get together at WCBF and talk about it all. I've done dozens of tests to determine how the engine heats up, how it cools best in traffic, and how it does while moving.

Learn from my mistakes over the last 6 years. ;)
You can also get a good up-close-and-personal look at the vent install on Zilla and Gravenge. Two cars with them will be here.
