In Need Of Help

Post by BMoReZFYNeST410 »

Ok well i own a all black 98 bonne'ville SE with about 84k on the dash.Well about a few months ago i installed 10K HIDS for my headlights 7 Fog lights. And AS OF NOW i just ordered some "Audi eyebrows" in the "Cool white " color. But here's the problem i need to know how i can open up my "Headlight Housing" so i can install the Audi eyebrows INSIDE the housing.People have suggested to me "Why dont know you install them outside the headlights to fit around them"..UmMm LMaO No ! I mean C'mon now lets face that would look stupid & hidious lol. That is just defeating the whole purpose of that custom look.So if somebody HAS OPENED the HEADLIGHT HOUSING before. Please let me know how i can go about doing this. Thanks alot any help is appreciated

I have heard (but never tried) that you can warm the lamp assembly in an oven to soften the glue that holds the lens to the lamp housing. Once it is soft, the lens can be gently pryed off of the housing. You must glue it back on to keep it water tight and to keep it from falling off.

I have a pair of 99 headlamps for $100 if you end up needing a set.

That's how you take apart the 00+ headlights, but I have no clue if the older headlights will work like that.

I would think it would work? I don't think anyone has tried on the older ones because they have a glass lens and do not fade, so there has never been a need to take one apart. But the Audi eyebrow does sound like a cool appearance mod. Not sure if this is it or not?

No, we take apart the new ones in order to remove the orange reflector, mainly. No one takes apart the old ones because there is no need.

It can be done... I did it to make to put a set of angel eyes in it... but you have to take you time and heat it up and pry a little at a time.. I got one head light done but I kept breaking the the other headlights glass so I gave up on the angel eyes for now.. all I did was us a heat gun or as blow drier on hot and high and warmed up the glue and pryed slowly with a small flat head screw driver.. but the key word is slowly.. make sure you have it hot enough that the glue will give... hope it helps
