Hi, my name is David. I work for General Motors, at the Orion Assembly plant, in Orion Township, MI. We used to build the Pontiac Bonnevilles thru around 2004, Buick Park Avenues, Oldsmobile Auroras, and Buick LeSabres. We currently build the Chevy Malibu, and the Pontiac G6. I am a pipefitter, and work in the Paint dept. on third shift.
I recently purchased a 2004 bonneville GXP with about 154,000 miles. It seems to be in pretty good shape so far. I bought it off of e-bay for $6000, so I figured that was a pretty good price. I got a one way ticket to Indianapolis and had the seller pick me up at the bus station, dropped him off at his warehouse and proceeded to drive the car back to Detroit, MI with no problems. In the first week, the passenger side headlight went out and I changed it no problems. Also the driver's side fog light went out. I looked all through the owner's manual and saw nothing about the fog light or what type of bulb it took. Finally found out it took an H-3 but now am having problems figuring out how to replace it.
Driver's side heated seat is not working either. Light will come on but will not stay on. Dealer looked at it and told me it would be almost $800 for whole new heated seat assembly and module. Needless to say I told them that I really didn't need the heated seats. : ) So far everything else seems okay.

Welcome! cool that you worked on the bonnevilles.
The GXP fog lights going out is a common problem, due to a bad ground I think. It's discussed some here: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=11553&hilit=gxp+fog+lights
The heated seats have also been discussed, I had the same problem as you. First check the Fuse, but check this topic out: http://www.pontiacbonnevilleclub.com/fo ... fix#p77854

It was really cool working in the plant. I worked on the production line back then in 2000 before I started in my apprenticeship. We stopped making the Bonnevilles in 2004 I think, and then the last of them were made down in Hamtramck, MI down near Detroit at the Poletown plant. They also made Cadillacs at that plant.
Whoever engineered those *dang* fog lights on the GXP should have their ass whooped.

Welcome aboard! Good to see someone who still builds them in the USA. Keep up the good work.
The fog lights and heated seats are common problems. Someone here should be able to help you fix up your issues!
