Re: Ding Ding Ding..
I'm pretty sure they can test the alternator while it's still on the vehicle, with the vehicle running. At least my parts store can.

Re: Ding Ding Ding..
okay doesn't hurt to try and that 1st if they say no I can just come back home and take it out...
thanks
- Nick
edit.. just got back from getting the alternator tested and if tested fine.. next step I think I will look for a loose wire or a wire that's grounding itself in the firewall...
thanks

Re: Ding Ding Ding..
Just take a light bulb for the empty headlight connector and plug it in. If that stops the dinging, problem solved.

Re: Ding Ding Ding..
Check your brake fluid level in the reservoir, as well as below it on the firewall -my bet is your master cylinder is out.

Re: Ding Ding Ding..
Hi I checked my braked fluid today it was a little low about an inch below max. I’m going to the auto store tomorrow to get some and top it off. But my question is if my master cylinder is out wouldn’t I feel it having some kind of effect on my braking? (Not sure) . Because the car stops really good and if I put my e-brake I can’t even move the car. Thanks for any help or ideas in advance.

Re: Ding Ding Ding..
The emergency brake is totally independent from the hydraulic system.
Usually when a master cylinder goes, the pedal will sink to the floor and braking power decreases.

Re: Ding Ding Ding..
Hold on here....
The constant "dinging" like that is indicative of a light bulb fillament touching one of the contacts, and not fully attached to it. So...you might want to check your tail lights AND the center-stop light. AND...check your license plate bulbs.

Re: Ding Ding Ding..
Also check the electrical switch on the emergency brake. It could be stuck on, like the brake is always on.

Re: Ding Ding Ding..
Check your trunk switch. Or see if it dings with the car running when you open and close the trunk.
Check every fuse in your fuse box.

Was it just the battery gage, or all the gages. Did any lights on the dash flash when this happened?m1030w6 wrote: tonight while drive home it has gotten worse now, with the ding ding ding all the light will flicker on and off like crazy and it does this randomly, and the battery gague will go all the down to the red.
