The 3800 is not know for weak ignitions.

Looking at the DIS manual it should work but, I doubt you would see a noticeable difference on an engine that was even remotely streetable.

If you want to run nitrous, or tune something that's not the easiest to tune (series 1) or some other special little project with regards to timing, this is a good box.

IIRC one guy had one in a black '95 A LONG LONG time ago, when I got my car, so 6 years ago... Gordy bought one but never put it in?

You don't need it. Just about all sub-12 second 3800 I see are running OEM ignition.

I remember that one guy.. I think he was from maryland?

And FWIW, the Series 1 is not hard to tune.

Yea, I got one that never ended up getting installed. Still in my agarage and probably for sale if interested, but as they said, really not needed unless you want to tinker and learn. As long as the OEM one is well maintained, it'll do just as good.

It's not an easy process to do, not like DHP or HPTuners IMO. That car was pretty nice as I remember, what ever happened to him?

I have DIS 4, still new in the box, I also have the coil adaptors and one of these days I'll hook it up to something but the 3800 supercharged motors don't need any more ignition with all the knock we et with our blowers.
If I ever have a need for multi spark discharge I'll use it tho because it wasn't cheap by any means.

I've been tuning my OBD1.5 pcm for just shy of 2 years. It's really not that bad and I can change parameters with the engine running.

I remember him having some sort of engine bay fire and getting a new car.

Hey 95naSTA, why don't you start a new thread on how you tune your 1.5 pcm. I'm VERY interested in how you do it and all the hardware involved (I know you use TunerCat). My 94 needs some tuner lovin'!
