Decals and plates installed

Post by Ghosthawk »

My "nameplate" decals arrived, as well as my personalized plates, so I could install my plate frames. A nice clean up was in order first so Bonne could pose for her latest pics.

I'm surprised that I like it! But I think if you add anymore, its going to be "too much".

Not a huge fan of it, im just weird like that, BUT it is done tastefully, they look like high quality units and looks like you took the time to make them super straight!!

This.

I normally don't go for that sort of thing, though I did like the decal designs for sure, but that looks pretty decent! :thumbleft:

Thats it for the decals. I was shooting for a scheme that would be very similar to a factory option package. Any further exterior mods will be wheels, painted calipers, and exhaust tips. Given how all that looks I may add a subtle hood scoop, but thats still a maybe at this point.

I'm also very happy the plate frames fit. I was worried after you told me about that :O

Actually I'd love to graft on the skin of a GTO or G8 hood, since I do like the scoop treatment of both of those, but given the aluminum hood material that could be problematic. I think the G8 scoops would be a subtle touch that would go well with the front end of the Bonne. I'm not opposed to a bolt-on as long as it flows with the lines of the car. If the look is too eye-catchy or overbearing then it'll be a no-go.

This car reminds me of a Lear Jet, sleek, roomy and graceful. Its not as fast or showy as a fighter jet, but still just one glance tells you it has the goods.

While the decals do come off a bit showy for now, after the wheels, calipers, rotors and exhaust are in place, I think it will make the right statement. When I get the engine bay like I want it, then the image will be complete.

Looks great!

Except 1 thing....if Pontiac had done those from the factory, I'd think they would have also added the wings to the front emblem. I know it's a little extra measuring and slight modification to the original size, but it would look look awesome to see the ghosthawk logo folded over the nose using the original metal emblem on the car.

Very nice look. Really seperates it from all the other Bonnevilles that look the same. You did a great job.

I don't quite get them. I'd have to ask why? What does the car do that makes it different from all the other white Bonnevilles out there..

Looks awesome! It's perfectly under the "just enough" category. I like HurstGN's idea with having the wings spread over the nose emblem. That would be a nice finishing touch.
