Pics of my 2001 SSEi...

Post by ZLTFUL »

So here is the money pit. No pics of the engine bay as of yet because I still have yet to get my laptop back. These were snapped about an hour ago and it's pretty drizzly out...

You can see where I have the Hella Supertones mounted in this pic...
Image

Mine and my neighbor's 2005(?) SLE in the background...this neighborhood is very Pontiac heavy with 2 Bonnies, a G6 Coupe, 2 Grand AMs and a GTO on just my short block alone.
Image

If you look really close, you can see the $2300 worth of damage that the 16 yo caused when she changed lanes into my car...Front bumper scuffed and rear rocker moulding plus assorted other scuffs that will be buffes out.
Image

The tires I picked up haven't been put on these wheels yet so it is still sporting the way too small 245/40/18s(wheels were cheaper in combo with crappy tires than they were alone). The 235/50/18s I picked up for it put it within 0.1" of the stock overall diameter. Plus they fill the wheel wells properly instead of looking like ass as they do with these tires.

Looks good!! Reminds me of haro's with the small tires, lol. 235/50R18 is the stock size on the GXP, so those will be perfect. Did your car have the 20 spoke wheels or the swoops originally?

I saw the supertones without reading anything first and my first thought was twin turbo!? Which would be realllly interesting to see a setup that fit in like that.

But she looks good man! What all have you done under the hood? Or is she stock? :eek2:

Beast beat me to it. LOL.

Stockers are Swoops. Funny part is, I almost bought another 2001 with the 20 spokes that was local to me before deciding to drive the 5.5 hours to check this car out. The deciding factor was that the other car had fuel filler cancer while this one doesn't have a spec of rust anywhere...well hard parts underneath but no body panel cancer anywhere to speak of.

I am currently selling off some of my track gear (motorcycles) to finance the final additions. I know the gutted airbox is starving the engine for air so the FWI will be the next and then fixing up the cosmetic stuff that is bugging me. Scuffs from the accident aren't too noticeable but *I* notice them.

The 3.4 is sitting on my desk as I type this and the ECU and FWI will be ordered as soon as payment clears on a few items that just sold...

Funny part about this whole journey is my brother picked up a white 2000 SSEi as a theft recovery that was used in a bank heist. He keeps telling me not to dump any more money into this as I will sell it if I buy the G8 from my godfather. But I know better...
And I have/have owned some OK rides over the years...(will be posting up in the other rides forum as well...)

Are you using a MPS or a press-on pulley? I'd go MPS, as I bet you'll be able to run a 3.3 or 3.2 with a good tune.

Went with an MPS. Way easier to swap obviously plus I don't want anyone mistaking her intentions when the hood is open. Hehe.

Great looking Bonne!

Gotta love that colour. :bwoohoo:

I like the wheels but ya they need more rubber.

Thanks for the link. Not one of our recognized vendors but it's good to have choices.

Sorry but I have to reiterate this. Hehe. Love the wheels but the way too small tires annoyed the crap out of me from day one.

Still no new pics but still getting used to having monster truck tires on my car(not really but compared to 40 series tires, 55s look mammoth!).

I think this week, I am going to pull the headlights and fogs to bring them inside and polish the everliving snot out of them. Saw a GP GXP with some sort of HID conversion on it today and I think the thing that stood out the most was how clear his lenses were.

The 3M kit for polishing headlights works amazingly well for being only $20. It will also polish the tails.

My how-to: http://www.pontiacbonnevilleclub.com/fo ... 5&p=197283

Might as well clear the headlights while you're at it: http://www.pontiacbonnevilleclub.com/fo ... 5&p=197283

Just for sh*ts and giggles, clearing tails: http://www.pontiacbonnevilleclub.com/fo ... =42&t=9349
