Transmission Cooler Install
I'm about to install my B&M 70264, and I was wondering if the orientation mattered at all. On stock Bonnevilles they have the inlet and outlet at the bottom, but then I read in other write-ups on other forums to have the inlet at the bottom and outlet at the top, and then some say it doesn't really matter. I was wondering what was the consensus here. Thanks!

Re: Transmission Cooler Install
I have my outlets pointing to the passenger side... as stupid as it sounds I have the Radiator out( top port ) go to the bottom of the cooler and then back... This way the cooler is always 100% full due to the check valve on the trans... I know it doesn't make a lot of sense, but thats how I have always set mine up...
Re: Transmission Cooler Install
IIRC i think mine is bottom/bottom. dont think it really matters as long as it has good air flow and the feed/return lines are not kinked.

Re: Transmission Cooler Install
I could not find a valid consensus in my research, but I followed the orientation on the 96 and had both ports facing down. I know at least most of it filled since I could feel it getting warm and I had to add almost half a quart, so I think the flow got most of the air out. Here are the pics, the left hose is pretty snug, but no kinks. Ill probably spray paint the brackets:

Re: Transmission Cooler Install
Not bad!
A refinement you might want is to put some flexible cable conduit over the hoses as protection from road debris.
