:btruestory: hello bonneville world ,,,
i have a 2000 bonneville ssei 117,000 (got it wiyh 104k) on engine well taken care of only drive sometimes, (i drive different work car just so i dont put too many miles on bonne) & yesterday i opened the hood to check oil to take kids for a ride & what did i find :banghead: muddy oil... it hasnt overheated on me ever within the 2 years ive owned it. i'm going to fix but i would appreciate some suggestions on what to do & what good aftermarket parts to repair headgasket, intake gasket, water pump & any other parts or knowledge that would be helpful in the rebuilding of my 3800 supercharged ssei.... im in california, bay area san jose area & if any one can recommend a quality repair shop that knows their stuff thanks

ps. any info or related stories on your experience will be helpful

There's a greater than 99% chance that it's the lower intake manifold gaskets, and not the headgaskets. Felpro and GM make aluminum framed LIM gaskets that are the best way to fix it. The first thing I would do, though, is drain the oil and coolant, put in some cheap oil, run the engine at idle for a minute (make sure to not run long, or it will overheat), then drain the oil again. That should get most, if not all, of the coolant out of the bearings. If it's a bad enough leak, it'll kill the bearings a little while after you think you have it all fixed, but the but of rust that formed before you got it done is the nail in the coffin. If it looks like it was just a seap, you probably don't need to flush the oil. Just get the gaskets fixed, put in fresh oil, then change it again a few days (100 miles or so).

And replace your coolant with a mixes with any type.
