That doesn't look too bad. For $500 worth of stuff in trade, it's a good starting point for cleanup. If you managed to drive the vehicle to your house under it's own power, I'd attack the rust issues first and see if the finished body shell is in good enough condition to continue with an engine swap on it.

Had to trailor it home, it runs, but I wouldn't take it anywhere outside of my yard. As far as the body goes, it is 100% in good enough shape to do work on. Just a little patch panel on the back side where it is rotted out, find a couple doors, and the rest is all easy stuff.

Not anodized, just painted. That would be dang cool though.

As far as a small block swap, that is more then likely to happen, but it all depends on what the actual hp rating of this engine is. The problem is that many of the 350s you find for the right price are from the '70s and '80s which makes them complete dogs and probably not any gain ( loss if anything ) in hp or torque over a good 4.3. With a small block swap in this one, I would want no less then 300 hp, which is actually really easy to do with a 350.

Good thing is that I have nothing but time on my hands for this one, so I don't have to rush anything. It won't matter if it sits for a month before I touch it again.

Holy crap! That's clean... On a serious note you interested in selling it for a profit? Asking because my friend has that exact engine in his garage that he doesn't need, and said I could have it. I could always pop the new 4.3 in it and BOOM, a DD.

The thought has crossed my mind, but as it is right now, I don't really need the money from it. Really though, I probably couldn't get anything more then $500 - $600 out of it the way it sits right now.

I think I am just going to hold onto it and make it a street beast 4x4

Reminds me of my old S10 Blazer Tahoe. Sigh. I miss that car. 5 speed 4x4. Have fun with this one! Good grab for what you paid. That body rust doesnt look too overwhelming.

I was going to check the RPOs out but I can't find a list of what they are for the Blazer / Jimmy :???:

Only thing I have found so far is the axle ratio, which sucks because it is 3.42 in both my '94 and this '92, and neither one has the G80 locker either. I knew the Blazer didn't have the locker, but I was really hoping that the Jimmy did. I was also really hoping for 3.73 gears, all three of my past S10 Blazers had 3.73.

Thats a nice looking ride though, can't wait to get up there and see em all in person.

Heh.. if I had the means to pick it up, I'd give you $700 cash for it, I just have no way to pick it up. The interior is in excellent shape, and that's usually what I worry about more than anything.

WHOO HOOO!!!!

I fixed the digital dash today. It has not worked at all since the day I picked it up so I had no idea how many miles were on it. I didn't take any pics because I wasn't even 100% sure if what I did was going to fix it :ack:

Anyways, after doing a bunch of searching, I have found that the problem with these usually lies in the power supply made by TDK. There seems to be a lot of problems with cold solder joints on these and the only way to even find them is to unsolder the power supply from the main board. I found a couple bad spots and re-soldered probably 10 - 15 spots that looked a little funny. Plugged it in and there it was!

It has 130,000 miles!!!!

Nice! Does it add the miles even if it can't display them? If not, who knows how many more miles it really has.
