Re: Easiest headers to install on a '97 SE?
If anyone has some feedback about installation or fitment of any of the header kits available I would love to hear it. I'll do some searching through the forum as well. Thanks.

Re: Easiest headers to install on a '97 SE?
Which Ebay headers seem to work the best? Any opinions?
Honestly I had no idea there were any Ebay header sets available. Frankly I'm surprised at the number of options out there.

Easiest headers to install on a '97 SE?
I've been out of the game for a while, so forgive me if this is a dumb question...
What is the best header solution for the 96-99 body style? I recall that every available header set needed to be modified in some way to fit this body style (as well as moving the PCM IIRC). Which header brand has ...

Re: Total engine power loss when car is heat soaked
I guess it would be nice if it was only the ICM. I'll swap one in. Hope it's not the *dang* crank sensor.
I don't smell gas in the FPR. Maybe very, very faint but it seems normal.
I don't think it's the catalytic converter... Aren't most cats fully heated up much faster than 30 minutes?

Doesn't sound awful, and I've got all day to get it done. I think I'll give it a shot.
How beneficial will it be to empty or partially empty the tank? Like I said before, it's chock full o' premium grade petroleum.

97 SE Fuel Pump Replacement
Do we have a good write-up for the procedure to replace the fuel pump in a '97 SE? I went through Techinfo briefly and did a search in the forums but lost patience after a few minutes (lol).

Re: Blower fan intermittent; changes fan speeds on its own
Figured out it was the blower motor when it stopped working completely a couple weeks ago. Just replaced it, and all is good in the world of air conditioning!
And unlike many of you, I still need my A/C this year... forecast to be 105 in the next couple days!

Re: Blower fan intermittent; changes fan speeds on its own
New development:
As the blower starts to slow down to a trickle, I've noticed it momentarily speeds up if I'm turning the steering wheel to the left. It could be going around a corner, or even a gradual left curve on the freeway (i.e., does not require sudden or violent movement). Doesn't seem to ...

Re: Blower fan intermittent; changes fan speeds on its own
Did you clean both ends of the connection? Check for loose terminals where the female terminal has opened up or corroded.

97 SE - Which radiator to install?
The radiator on my '97 SE is leaking, but I don't want to replace it with a stock unit. I want a thicker core that will give more cooling capacity and still be a direct fit for the hoses/fans. Could I drop in an SSEi radiator from the same year? What other options do I have for better cooling?

Re: Blower fan intermittent; changes fan speeds on its own
I used a wire brush, Bob, but apparently is wasn't enough!
Unfortunately the blower is intermittent again. It worked great for about a week, then started acting up again.

Re: A/C always warm on driver's side, cool on passenger's side
Fixed the problem! The system needed more refrigerant.
I was not able to test the low/high side pressures, but with the driver's side air seemingly becoming warmer I figured it couldn't hurt anything to put a can of R134a in the system. The A/C was immediately cooler, and my wife is much happier ...

Re: Blower fan intermittent; changes fan speeds on its own
Over the weekend I checked out the ground splice under the driver's door sill, but everything looked fine. Wiggling wires around made no difference, as the fan would still not work.
I then removed the blower motor resistor, which was pretty dusty and dirty. However, I wasn't sure what to do with it ...

A/C always warm on driver's side, cool on passenger's side
Car is my wife's 2000 SSEi.
When we run A/C the air coming out of the driver's side and middle-left vents is substantially warmer than that on the passenger's side. The passenger vents blow cold air, as do the rear console vents. This happens regardless if the dual climate control is set to two ...

Re: Blower fan intermittent; changes fan speeds on its own
This sounds like the blower control module. You imply that is does have the automatic temp and speed control.
Yes, it has the electronic climate control, but even controlling the fan manually yields an inconsistent speed.

Re: Blower fan intermittent; changes fan speeds on its own
Is the actual fan changing speeds? Meaning, can you hear the fan slowing down?
Yes, it appears to be slowing down almost to a dead stop. When the airflow begins to taper off I usually check the defrost/heater vents to see if it is being redirected, and it's not. The fan is simply changing speeds ...

Blower fan intermittent; changes fan speeds on its own
Not sure if this is a problem with the blower fan itself or the climate control unit. First of all, the fan is intermittent. Sometimes when I start the car it turns on, and sometimes it doesn't work at all. Sometimes if I turn the car off and open the door, then close the door and start the car ...
