Re: Exhaust leak that has become a mystery to locate
Ok, so I've just replaced pretty much everything. I put in a front ZZP exhaust manifold, replaced the crossover pipe from one from Haro, replaced the rear exhaust manifold from another 2002 SSEI off ebay, the gaskets on the manifolds are less than a year old, a new downpipe gasket, and a ZZP 3inch ...

Re: Exhaust leak that has become a mystery to locate
And the leak is back. I guess the flexpipe I put in failed, or a bolt on the plate failed. I don't know yet. I drove it work in the morning and all was well. I started the car to go home that night and the leak was back.

Can I tighten tranny flywheel bolts w/o taking out the tran?
I've got a rattle that seems to be coming out of my trans. The torque converters bolts have been tightened to see if the rattle was that, and it's still rattling. The next guess is that it's the flywheels bolts that are loose. Is it possible to tighten these without remove the transmission? My dad ...

Re: Exhaust leak that has become a mystery to locate
This car has a 4 inch crack on the top driver side side of the transmission casing. It was jb welded by the previous owner. I was never told about it. I found it when changing the EGR a while ago. Could a crack in the casing lead to a noise audible inside the car that sounds similar to an exhaust ...

Re: Exhaust leak that has become a mystery to locate
So they found a crack around one of the welds on the rear manifold and we replaced the manifold. When he was reconnecting the EGR tube, the flange on it screwed up and caused a serious leak there. Luckily, warpfactor15 had an EGR cap. We capped it off and that sealed any leaks we could further find ...

Exhaust leak that has become a mystery to locate
My 02 ssei has an audible exhaust leak and we've replaced the manifolds, their gaskets, the egr, the down pipe and the catalytic converter. Is there anything else that can cause an audible leak? You can hear it clearly from the drivers seat when it gets over 1500 rpm. My friends shop has been ...

Heated Seats Revisited. No light comes on when pressed
So when I bought the car I had the typical issue of press the button, the light comes on for a second, then turns off. I tried to follow the guide months back and fixed a few of the breaks. I still had the same issue after my repair. I built a line tester out of a flashlight, wire and alligator ...

Sunroof rear end drains. Different location than expected.
So I took out the rear ends seats and panels only to find the sunroof drains don't run to the wall right next to the rear doors. The tubes in my 2002 SSEI run to the trunk and connect to a small 3inch diameter rubber grommet behind the wheel. This area is easily accessible through the trunk by ...

All at once, my horn and heated seats stopped working.
So a month ago, both my horn and heated seats decided to stop working, all at the same time. The seats button lights up then turns off after a second. The horn just doesn't work at all. The fuses for the heated seats are fine. Any suggestions on my next step?
Thanks guys.

Re: Cell Phone or GPS dash mount that actually works
I want to leave it in a spot where I don't have to take it off every time I leave the car. Leaving it on the windshield is a sign saying "I have a GPS, come break into my car!". I live in NYC and work in Brooklyn. I wanted to put it there, but then I'd also have to run the wires for the charger and ...

Cell Phone or GPS dash mount that actually works
I found this mount that works with most phones and some GPS's. I got it to suction mount right in front of the compass. It is a great spot for putting your phone if you use it for GPS or music. I know it's hard to find one that works with the Bonnevilles dash, so I figured I'd post it in here.

@Archon. I wanted to make a separate thread concerning the Rack & Pinion because I'm getting it possibly installed tomorrow and I wanted to go in there with as much knowledge as I could so I could explain why it shouldn't be the Rack & Pinion. I'd rather return this $170 part if I could. The guy I ...

He says I need a Rack&Pinion, I say new power steering pump.
So After plugging my 02 SSEI into a tech 2, there is a code telling me the Steering wheels position sensor is bad. There is cracking when I turn the wheel with or without power steering, but more so without power steering. The guy who checked out my car is saying I need a new Rack & Pinion along ...

We checked the powersteering fluid level and it was good. I haven't heard it whining. My friend would have noticed that while we had it in his shop. The alignment shop might not have done a good enough job. I'll have to bring it back over.
I'm going to double check on that code. Thanks!

Haha, he wants a Bonneville again as a project car. I can see why he loved his so much. His BMW is giving him most of what he wants. One day he will get another Enterprise. Picard went through so many letters, and so will Enrique.
