Re: About ready to get the Bonneville back out

Thanks for the info. I will definitely be printing that out.
Just got done ordering most of my parts. I'll be going to the parts stores this week and getting the rest.

Did you put the parts with the wrinkle paint in an oven, or did you use a blow dryer? I have heard that will work also.

I'll be ...

Re: LeSabre needs some maintenance...

Filled up for the first time since replacing the parts...not good

I got a whopping 13.6 MPG out of 80 miles country, 100 city. We got a lot of snow this week so that hurt it a little, but given the circumstances I think it should be at least 20, maybe a little more.

Another thing: I don't really ...

Re: LIM Gaskets, YAY!

Where did you get the wrinkle paint from? Does it require primer?

I really want to do this to my car when I change the LIM gaskets soon

Re: LeSabre needs some maintenance...

I might have to try that. I'll let it go a little longer and see what I get but I'll probably end up doing that over Christmas break sometime, along with all the maintenance on Bonneville...

Re: LeSabre needs some maintenance...

Well I got this all done on Thanksgiving...couldn't watch the Lions any more
I seafoamed it, changed the plugs and wires (which was a lot easier than I thought for the back ones), changed the fuel filter, and gutted my airbox with a hammer for the hell of it. Worked pretty good.

The old plugs were ...

LeSabre needs some maintenance...

The LeSabre isn't quite what it should be, so I might get around to do some maintenance on her since I have a long weekend

On my last fill up I was only getting 19mpg, and it should be way better than that(about 200-ish country roads, 75 city, I think...)
My plans are:
New spark plugs
New spark ...

Rear-ended a girl in the LeSabre last night...

Leaving my apartment complex last night...didn't know the roads had a coat of ice on them.

Coming up to the stop light and when I went to hit the brakes I didn't slow down at all and I couldn't turn into the other lane.
I threw it in reverse and gassed it and that helped a little. Gave her a good ...

Re: 1st car recommendation

As far as 3400, my sister has a Grand Am and we had to replace the lower intake gaskets. Not fun. The gaskets were weaved through the pushrods so we had to take all of them out. Doing it on my LeSabre's 3800 was a lot easier.

Re: Winter storage questions

Yeah I put it in the barn because my registration expired on it. I could definitely drive it for another month and a half, but I can't really afford to pay for the registration on that and my LeSabre.
Because of that I won't be able to put a full tank in it. Can't remember how much there is, maybe ...

Winter storage questions

I put my car in the barn a couple weeks ago. Already can't wait until next spring when I can get it out again. I just wouldn't be able to afford the insurance during the school year, and it will be nice to know I won't wreck on some icy roads. I like my LeSabre so it shouldn't be that bad.

Besides ...

Re: Need help now! Car is stalling

Well it don't really matter to me now because I put the car away for the winter
I plan on changing the LIM gaskets sometime in the winter/spring before I get it out again, so we'll have to see if I fix it when I do that.

I'll have to get out there soon then. Do you think I could have knocked something loose that would cause low fuel pressure?

Re: Need help! Car is stalling

I just went out and started it up. It wasn't doing any of that for brief time I had it on, but the SES light came on. Unfortunately I don't have a scan tool. Does Autozone do scans for free? I think I remember seeing that on here somewhere.

Re: Need help! Car is stalling

That shouldn't have an effect on oil pressure though, should it? The oil pressure gets low on idle before the sputtering.

Need help now! Car is stalling

:helpsmilie:
I was driving my car back up to school today when after about 15 minutes it stalled while I was driving. I put it in neutral and tried starting it multiple times but it would stall shortly after. I coasted into a driveway and popped the hood, but I could find nothing wrong. After about ...

Does the front bumper filler from an 00+ SE fit an 00+ SSEi?

I really need one for my car because it looks like :booty:
