Simply disconnect the ground wire from the parking brake assembly and the warning will stop. This is a culprit of rusted up lines or weak return springs on the line causing the pedal to not retract all the way.

No, there would not be the wiring for it. However, it would be easy to add as the stock tweeter just "Y's" off from the door speaker. If you are looking for the parts to do the conversion I have everything, PM me or email andrew.suderman@gmail.com

The front valve cover is easy, less than 10 minutes for a first timer. Nothing in the way, 6-3/8" bolts. The rear valve cover has a lot in the way before you can get at it. The alternator/tensioner bracket goes over the edge of the valve cover and you must remove it to be able to get the cover ...

The HD version should always have the needle bearings. Sounds like you might have the incorrect trans or someone installed the wrong part previously.

I'm told cabin air filter leaks are common and have one myself. However, I'm not finding any posts about fixing that issue. Does anyone have info that could be linked here? Water leaks at the cabin air filter? I've never seen it. I'd suggest creating your own thread explaining your problems with pi...

The picture above is from a 1999 Bonneville as my Factory Service Manual doesn't have image support back to 1996. They must have changed it during the years.

I would figure out how to disconnect the harness under the dash so you don't have to pull the door all apart.

The wiring connector is in the hinge area.

The alternators are a completely different style. The wiring harness won't reach the plug.

Excellent. Anyone doing this job please take note, when replacing the mode actuator, do not remove the rotating assembly behind the actuator!

As long as 37ft lbs is inside its range I don't see why it would matter.

37 ft lbs is nothing for any standard 1/2" torque wrench.

The important part is the 120°. You'll need an angle gauge like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00L6I1874

You can use a simple breaker bar to apply the 120°.

The 3 arms and fingers need to be in EXACTLY this position before putting on that piece or the doors will not sync correctly.

I have a post on my account with the parts. It looks like the right part I compared them but for some reason my mode door actually isn't working now that I 'fixed' it lol. I think I just did something wrong

Did you take off more than the mode actuator? Did you take off this piece as well?

Pull the HVAC BATT fuse to recalibrate the actuators. Watch them during this process to make sure they are doing the full sweep both ways. If they aren't, pull the actuator and make sure you can move the doors by hand.

There probably are broken wires in the door jam, also very common. You have to pull the harness out of the door to fully inspect.

That other post suggest prying from the top edge with a dull knife and the entire button pod comes out as an assembly.
