Re: Overdrive works.. sometimes...
I had it in when I did my first filter change before the shift kit. Might have to try some now too. It came with all new seals and everything though.. Guess it's worth a shot

Overdrive works.. sometimes...
97 Grand Prix GTP.. So, in the morning around 6am when I go to work, the car will never kick into overdrive. When I come home at 4:30, it goes in no problem. But when it won't go into overdrive on its own, if I mash the gas and let off real quick, it will shift into overdrive. But I have to do this ...

Re: Need help finding parts.
Performance shift actually works wonders for me. And I actually did find all parts just waiting for response on Strut brace. And I bought poly dogbone mounts, sway bar kit, shift kit, and engine and transmission mounts. Happy camper right here haha.

Need help finding parts.
Getting my car ready for autocross in the Spring. 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. What I'm looking for is...
Camber Adjustment.
Polyurethane sway bar bushings and end links.
Strut tower brace (Hopefully already found one to buy from another forum member.)
Transmission Mounts? I think? They're the very ...

Re: 'dumb' question about superchargers?
GM is now rarely carrying this. Both ones in my town have to order it by 24 unit case, so they are just not stocking it. I am sure I can find it in the GTA, but I may have to call first now.

Re: Annyoing knocking/banging when going over bumps
Haha I haven't found the issue. Still does it. Even with 4 new struts/shocks. Now the driver front does it, too. Even when leaving from a stop and giving it gas, the driver front left will 'pop'.Franksdad wrote:I just stumbled across this looks like dude is still in his trunk hahaha

Well that was a lot simpler than I thought. What's the point of it even being there?

Don't know if the bonnevilles have them but have you checked your O2 sensor behind your cat? I get this code every once in awhile (but that's because I actually removed my cat haha)

Re: I clearly blew a head gasket water in my oil.
Had two of the 3800 non-supercharged motors blow because of UIM leak. It warps because it's plastic (I was told when I got my engine replaced the first time) and they replaced it with a 'plenym'? Not sure if I'm spelling or describing that right. Actually a fairly common problem.. when the engine ...

Sticky for 'rattling'
I think we need to make a 'sticky' with a link to the sound of the coupler rattle.. seems like a VERY questioned topic, and a sticky would answer it that much quicker.

Re: Strait Pipe y/n
I hate the urban myth of back-pressure. You don't want back-pressure. What you want is proper scavenging, which is that the exhaust exiting actually creates a suction in the manifold, pulling the exhaust out of the cylinders. Too much flow, and the exhaust leaves without doing this. Too little flow ...

Re: FALSE P0102 Code. HELP!
Oh hey I didn't realize that I never replied that I fixed the problem. The power and ground wires in my main harness, believe it or not, melted together. So I completely bypassed them and rewired the power and ground to the PCM, and also ran a new wire from PCM to MAF Sensor wire. MAF Sensor shares ...

Re: Strait Pipe y/n
Straight pipes are terrible. Also decreases performance tremendously because there is virtually no back pressure in the system. I am straight piped, except I have mufflers. And it actually sounds really good.. grumbly at idle.. almost sounds like I have a cam. You can take out the cat, resonator, do ...

Re: good sound
No mufflers sounds terrible. I tried it, and it also made me 0-60 TERRIBLE. Car didn't wanna move. Right now I'm straight piped back to flowmaster mufflers. I like the sound and the 'grumble' at idle

Re: 'dumb' question about superchargers?
You are calling GM dealerships right? I have yet to go to any of the ones near me and them not have it in stock.
And no the year doesn't matter. Even the series one L67s use the same oil. Even other boosted cars use the same oil.
Yep. plus every other dealership anywhere near me. But I'm going ...
