Okay thanks, I will try to perform those checks and see what I find.
Just because the emissions burns clean doesn't mean it isnt restricted.
Check #1
* remove intake arm (Rubber part)
* With the car off
* Press the gas pedal to the floor and check to see if the throttle is all the way open or ...

More likely the throttle body because the car was recently smogged and easily passednos4blood70 wrote:Clogged cat or gunked up throttle body come to mind.

unknown throttle problem
Hi all, I was driving on the freeway today and after about 10 miles I had to put the pedal to the metal just to maintain 70 mph. That was top end and it stayed that way until I got off about 7 miles later. The engine sounded fine and the rpm's were right, so I'm wondering what was going on. It ran ...

Re: MAF code
It is a Duralast, has a 1 year warranty. I also checked the air filter and no issue with that either. Hopefully the new maf is not bad

MAF code
Hi all, my 2000 3800 started running badly, power surge etc, and the code P0102 showed up so I cleaned the MAF, but no improvement. I bought a new MAF, but still have the problem. It runs smoother with the MAF unplugged. No obvious wiring defects, so I am looking for some advice as to what else to ...

why drill when you can use a hammer and a concrete nail? It worked for me about 30 years ago lolmalatu wrote:Could to drain the water from the floor area, could you drill a small hole in the floor pan?

Re: Intermittent front end shimmy
Well whatever the problem was, it went away without any intervention from me. No shimmy between 60 and 75 mph, but it was there for at least 6 months to varying degrees. Now I can devote my time to repairing the front end on my 02 Hyundai Santa Fe as soon as the weather gets a little warmer. Take ...

Re: Intermittent front end shimmy
The tires are Dunlop SP60 225/16R all season radials. No to all of the questions, but what you said makes sense. There are several GM dealerships nearby so I can go there. Thanks for advice imidazol97

Intermittent front end shimmy
Hi all, it's a weird problem with my 2004 SE, sometimes around 65 - 70 mph, the front end will feel like it is shimmying a bit, but other days on the same road it's fine. On another highway 4 days ago it was more pronounced. All 4 tires have less than 5k on them and I have had the wheels rotated ...

Re: Seat belt cover removal
Okay, thanks for that information, I never thought putting on seat covers would be complicated
On the side that faces the headrest, there is a small hole. Stick a pin or similar into that hole gently to release one side of the trim piece. The other side will release similar, but there is no hole ...

Seat belt cover removal
Hi all, does anyone know how to remove the seat belt cover at the top of drivers seat back? I got some new seat covers for my 2005 SE and I think the best way to fit them would be under that cover. I don't see any other way to fit them on. Thanks Jim
