When my '94 did this, the pcm was bad. I replaced it with one from Adv Auto and it lasted three
months before failing exactly the same way. With their one year warranty I got another one and
it has lasted since then, about 10 months so far.

My 94 se had this exact problem. It was very intermittant. Mine was fixed by having the
crankshaft sensor replaced. I hope this helps.
