Re: The LT1 Camaro was KIA at Hockenheimring...

We were getting up to about 140 mph on the long stretch before hitting the brakes for the hairpin. And yes, officially it was a track day, just like I said it was. There was no prize, position, or points to compete for. However most people out there were competing against each other; therefore, they ...

Re: The LT1 Camaro was KIA at Hockenheimring...

Looking at a Wilwood or Baer 6 piston setup with 13 inch rotors, which is the biggest you can fit inside 17 inch wheels. I'll also throw on some sticky tires, oil cooler and improved radiator to transform the Camaro into a properly set up race car. I'll be going back to the track regularly to show ...

The LT1 Camaro was KIA at Hockenheimring...

My original LT1 engine was killed in action last week while battling it out with Europe's best at a track day on the Hockenheimring, Germany. After 9 minutes and 40 seconds of constant wheel to wheel racing, the bottom end had had enough and the engine suddenly shut down. No noise, no warning; it ...

Re: WCBF '12 - July 16-22***Cancelled*** (1st post updated)

I'm coming back to Oregon on August 16, then I leave for Germany on September 12. So aside from Labor Day weekend (taking a 3-day trip to San Diego), I can attend a meet sometime during those 4 weeks.

Re: WCBF '12 - July 23-29

Sorry guys, but for the first time since 2008 I cannot make it to the meet this year; I'm stuck in Korea until August. If WCBF were a month later though... ;)

Re: WCBF '11 attendees

Looks like my Dad is attending with me this year. The stories of WCBF are so legendary :beerchug: that he wants to join in on the fun too! I'm planning on arriving Thursday the 21st and staying through Saturday the 23rd. We'll find a hotel in town, most likely on 9th Street.

Re: WCBF11 - Oregon July 19 - 24

I'm just setting up my excuse ahead of time... if I need it ;)

Is there a prize for getting (Or not getting) the biggest ticket? [-X Oregon cops as a general rule are pretty forgiving in my experience. At least up here. I don't know about central OR.

I wouldn't try to play that game; 1 ...

Re: WCBF11 - Oregon July 19 - 24

This battle will be epic... so many rivalries among evenly matched cars.

Ya'll know I haven't touched a clutch pedal in 8 months now, and I've been stuck driving a 114hp Volvo all this time... so I might be a bit rusty.

We cant give up drag racing at Woodburn, it's a staple of the meet. I've swear I've dreamed of racing there at WCBF11 every day for the past 8 months!

At WCBF10: 14 flat
After headers and a PCM tune: 13.2

Looking forward to the race, I've always wanted to run against an '05 up generation mustang in the 1/4.

Re: WCBF11 - Oregon July 19 - 24

Looks like me and the Z28 are gonna make it this year! My training schedule has cut it pretty dang close, I'm scheduled to graduate on Tuesday July 19. (Amazing how that timing worked out...coincidence?) I still don't know which day I'll be arriving to the meet, it all depends on when I can catch a ...

Re: Just bought this tonight! (Oh yeah, guess what I paid)

Nice work finding that 16 valve engine; you rarely see those. And that price you cant beat! The hot setup to run is a 16 valve with a turbo; its a simple step to bolt on a turbo setup and make big power. That's what I would do...

Engine compartments are actually pretty large on these cars. Small ...

Re: Chicken Guts

Since #6 blew shrapnel into the intake manifold, theres a good chance the other cylinders pulled garbage in and bent those valves too. You might be looking at both heads being toast.

Nice car, black for the win! I expect 1/4 mile times shortly...

I'm sorry to hear about the Chicken, I couldn't believe it had another catastrophic failure. I was also thinking you had broke a valve from either valve float or a broken spring. It happened to a friend of mine's turbo civic ...
